Du Fu has been following the emperor all his life, and he is pursuing the great ambition of "to the monarch and Yaoshun, and then to make the customs pure", but the cold reality made Du Fu gradually sober up, and he saw the real status quo of the Tang Dynasty from prosperity to decline, and also saw the sad ending that the court would no longer appoint him. Fortunately, with the protection and sponsorship of his friend Yan Wu, the comfortable life in the cottage gave Du Fu great comfort. However, this comfortable and comfortable life did not last long, in April of the first year of Yongtai (765), Yan Wu died, Du Fu lost the financial support of his friend Yan Wu, so he took his family from Chengdu to the east by boat, through Jiazhou (now Leshan, Sichuan), Yuzhou (now Chongqing) to Zhongzhou (now Chongqing Zhongxian), arrived in Zhongzhou and composed this five rules, which became his classic.
[Original poem.]
Traveling in the night.
Du fu. The fine grass and breeze on the shore, the dangerous canoe at night.
The stars hang down and the plains are wide, and the moon swells and the rivers flow.
Famous articles, the official retired due to old age and illness.
What is fluttering, the sky and the earth are a sand gull.
[Notes].
Danger: A towering mast. Dangerous: High. 樯: Gardenia pole on a ship.
Yong: Leaping, here refers to the flickering waves.
Dajiang: Yangtze River.
Piao Piao: The appearance of flying, here is the meaning of drifting and drifting.
The breeze blows the lush grass by the river;
Lonely, the boat with a towering mast docks by the river.
Stars shining low in the sky;
The moonlight was shining, and the river tide was swaying up and down.
Alas——, who wants to be famous because of the article?
Alas——, old and sick, how good it is to resign from the official position!
Du Er, you have been wandering all your life, what kind of bird are you?
Look at that sand gull, it's chirping at you!
Appreciation] As explained above, this poem was written by the poet during his journey after leaving the thatched cottage in Chengdu, Sichuan Province in 765.
The poet writes not only about what he saw on the journey, but also about the lonely state of mind of old age and sickness.
In 765 AD, Du Fu left Chengdu Thatched Cottage, took the waterway and sailed down to Zhongzhou.
During the journey, the boat docked at the riverbank.
After losing the support of his friend Yan Wu, his ideals were completely shattered.
Looking at the grass swaying in the breeze, stepping down the canoe with the towering mast, looking at the plains and stars, and looking at the rivers and moonswelling, Du Fu felt how big the world was, and how small he was!
He recalled his persistence in drifting for half his life, following the emperor, to Jun Yaoshun, and then to Fengchun, and couldn't help but cry gloomily, full of emotion.
Eager to be in a high position, ambitious, famous, which Cheng wants to be famous in poetry and literature, it backfires!
Now, the stars are hanging on a moonlit night, the rapids are difficult to enter, the old and sick, the lord is low, and the officials are low, and if you don't want this official position, you may still have a little relief.
Looking at the sand gulls circling low, he seemed to have found himself.
Commentators often say that "the scene blends" and "the scene is allegorical", which is a definite argument. However, for such reasons, they are all interpreted by the word "situation", which is inevitably a cliché. Don't you know that the key to interpretation is the overall perception.
Poetry Yuxin believes that the reason why this poem is classic is because it "has a realm", has "true feelings", and has "real scenes", and writes the "pain" that Du Fu has been following for a long time, and even his "self-deprecation" (in the transcreation, he translates new meanings in this tone) - what is your Du Er, isn't it just a bird between heaven and earth, what is the use of birds if you follow it like this!
Therefore, the last two sentences are indeed extremely painful, but they can not be understood as self-deprecating sarcasm!
Du Fu's "View of Li Gu's Invitation to Sima Di Landscape (Part 2)" and its group of poems, there are paintings in the poems
Appreciation of ancient poems 15 ancient poems of Lidong, not to be missed.
Farewell Lu Qinqing": The Tang version of the popular golden song "You Don't Go" more than 1,000 years ago
The most unlike the farewell poem, but the most sincere and noble farewell, how is it?
