Nine or ten original sentences.
Zi said: Scholars are determined to be in the Tao, and those who are ashamed of clothes and evil food are not enough to discuss with them.
Zi said: The gentleman is also in the world, there is no suitability, there is no Mo, and righteousness is compared.
2. Translation
Confucius said: A person who verbally aspires to the "Dao", but in fact is ashamed of the cloth and clothing, is not worthy of discussing the "Dao" with him.
Confucius said that for the affairs of the world, a true gentleman has no prejudice, no subjective affinity, and only takes righteousness as the standard, and does what is righteous, and does not do what is not righteous.
100 Helping Plan 3.
These two sentences have two implications:
First, people who are aspiring to the Tao should not be ashamed of cloth and clothing, that is, people who are Taoist should not be satisfied with material pursuits. This should be the proper meaning of the question "The Way of Confucius".
Second, a gentleman has no prejudice against things and people, and has no personal likes and dislikes, and is a kind of indispensable person. When faced with a situation, we should never subjectively favor one over the other, whether we should do it or what we should do, and only start from "righteousness".
"In place" is conscientious in the duties of the position, just like Dayu can pass through the door three times without entering;Retire and be happy, happy and happy to live in the "food and drink alleys" like Yan Yuan.
In Confucius, such a person can be called a gentleman, and can be called "Tao", "benevolence", and "righteousness".
Of course, a person with such cultivation must be a mentally strong person, a happy person, and a fearless person.
