On December 25, the Charity Federation of Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (hereinafter referred to as "Optics Valley Charity Federation") held its inaugural meeting and the first general meeting of the first session, officially inaugurating and opening a new chapter in Optics Valley philanthropy.
The meeting elected the first president, vice president, secretary-general, directors and supervisors of the Optics Valley Charity Federation. Shengtian Network, Kingsoft Software, Douyu, Yifei Laser, Huakang Medical, Tianyu Information, Ningmei Internet, Puhui Ocean, and Honghui Building Materials 9 companies were elected as the first governing units.
At the meeting, convened by Wuhan Weike Medical Technology and Hubei Honghui Building Materials, the first public welfare project initiated by the Optics Valley Charity Federation and the Women's Federation of East Lake High-tech Zone - Women and Children's Care was officially unveiled to help the healthy development of women and children in Optics Valley.
Optics Valley Charity Federation is a regional, professional and non-profit social organization, which is committed to carrying out various public welfare services and charitable activities such as poverty alleviation, disaster relief and public welfare assistance, and creating a comprehensive, platform-type and hub-type public welfare and charitable organization.
After its establishment, the Optics Valley Charity Federation will be based on the major development strategies of national, provincial and municipal high-tech zones, give full play to the synergistic leading role, gather the advantages of Optics Valley industrial public welfare resources and scientific and technological public welfare, actively explore the models of "industry + public welfare" and "technology + charity", and work together to build the Optics Valley Charity Consortium, give full play to the complementary role of charity in ensuring people's livelihood and promoting regional construction, and solve the practical problems of people in difficulty and special groups with heart and soul.
Philanthropy is an important part of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Optics Valley has more than 130,000 enterprises and a deep tradition of philanthropy. In recent years, Optics Valley has adhered to the guidance of party building and continuously innovated measures to promote the leapfrog development of philanthropy. The city took the lead in promulgating the "Ten Principles of Community Governance", with a cumulative investment of more than 10 million yuan, and innovatively launched the "People's Livelihood Micro Facts" and "Public Welfare Venture Capital Competition" to help charitable organizations flourish. With the joint participation of all sectors of society, since 2021, the East Lake High-tech Zone has established the province's first district-level and street-level community association to comprehensively promote the development of philanthropy.
