After returning to China, in view of the fact that the various factions in the Kuomintang were still in dispute at that time, Chiang refused the request of the various factions to ask him to go out of the mountain and be reinstated, and decided to wait and see what happened, and first make every effort to complete the marriage with Soong Meiling.
As a result, on November 26, the major newspapers and periodicals in Shanghai simultaneously published Chiang Kai-shek and Soong Meiling's "Marriage Notice", in which this wonderful article became the talk of the government and the opposition:
Zhongzheng is running for revolution, driving horses for many years, and not forgetting the selfishness of the family. ......It is hereby scheduled to marry Ms. Song in Shanghai on December 1, pay the wedding expenses, feast with friends, and initiate the abolition of the military academy. ......I want to commemorate the marriage of Zhongzheng and Ms. Song. ”
After some fanfare, Chiang Kai-shek and Soong Meiling held a wedding ceremony in Shanghai on December 1, 1927, and the wedding was divided into two times, first holding a Western-style ceremony of ** religion, and then holding a traditional Chinese wedding.
*The church wedding was held in the small church in the Song Mansion on Seymour Road (now No. 369 North Shaanxi Road), although the area of the church is not large, but the decoration is very gorgeous.
In the middle hangs the oil painting portrait of Song Jiashu, the father of the Song Dynasty, with fresh bamboo branches tied on both sides, crossed into a semicircle, under the plantain tree, the garden pillar is wrapped around the phoenix tail grass, the two sides are full of various color flower baskets, and the red carpet is laid below.
The wedding was originally presided over by Jiang Changchuan, an old friend of the Song family and pastor of the Methodist Church, but Pastor Jiang believed that Chiang Kai-shek was not free to remarry and refused to preside, so he had to ask Yu Rizhang, director general of the National Association of Chinese ** Church YMCA, to preside over the wedding, but Yu was not a pastor.
At 3 o'clock in the afternoon, the wedding began, and the witnesses Yu Rizhang, the introducers Tan Yanhong, He Xiangning, Wang Zhengting, and Li Dequan, and the main marry, Chiang Kai-shek's half-brothers Chiang Kai-qing and Kong Xiangxi, arrived first.
Foreign guests included the US Consul General in Shanghai, Mr. and Mrs. Ke Yinhan, the US Presiding Judge, Mr. Putai, and the Commander-in-Chief of the British Army, Duncan.
Chiang Kai-shek was accompanied by Liu Jiwen, Song Meiling's first love, and then Song Meiling took Song Ziwen's arm and walked into the church under the guidance of the bridesmaid Guo Baozhu and others.
Jiang first wore a ring for Song, and read the oath and said:
I, Jiang Zhongzheng, am willing to follow God's will and marry you Song Meiling. From now on, no matter whether you are happy, afflicted, healthy, sick, all things with you, I will love and respect you with all my heart and protect you all the days of my life.
God has come to see this, and I have promised you this ring, and I hereby grant it to you to strengthen this covenant. ”
Then, Song Meiling read the oath and said:
I, Song Meiling, am willing to abide by God's will, marry you Jiang Zhongzheng, and take you as my husband. From now on, no matter whether you are happy, afflicted, healthy, sick, all things with you, I will love and respect you with all my heart and protect you all the days of my life.
God has come to see this, and I have promised you this ring, and I hereby grant it to you to strengthen this covenant. ”
After taking the oath, she put a ring on Jiang. Immediately after the ceremony, the two went to the Majestic Hotel on Gordon Road (now Jiangning Road) to attend the Chinese wedding.
The auditorium is located in the dance hall of the Majestic Hotel, surrounded by flowers, with a portrait of Sun Yat-sen hanging in the middle, and the national flag and party flag on both sides.
There are many flower baskets displayed in front of the stage, with family seats and press seats on the left side, and female guest seats on the right side.
More than 1,300 people attended the wedding, and they entered with a pre-issued invitation, numbered and stamped with Song Ziwen's private seal to prevent others from getting in.
After the guests arrived, they signed and registered in front of the door, and a wedding medal was issued and hung on the chest for identification.
There were 6 witnesses in attendance, including Cai Yuanpei, Tan Yanhong, Wang Zhengting, Yu Rizhang, He Xiangning, and Li Dequan.
The guests included Wang Jingwei, Wu Zhihui, Shao Lizi, Chen Guofu, Yang Shuzhuang, Zhang Dingqi, Chu Minyi, Zhou Peizhen, Chen Dezheng, Leng Xin, Leng Jun, Wang Xiaolai, Shen Tianxin, Miao Bin, Ye Huijun, etc.
Foreign guests include Japanese Consul General Yada, Consul General Shimizu, U.S. Consul General Ke Yinhan, Belgian Consul General Wang Hede, Norwegian Consul General Yale, etc., which can really be described as a very prosperous moment, and the guests are all courteously entertained by Chen Xizeng, Chen Lifu and others.
At 4 o'clock in the afternoon, Chiang Kai-shek and Soong Meiling took the No. 7392 float to the Majestic Hotel, and first rested in the garden house.
At 4:15, the orchestra played Mendelssohn's wedding march, and Chiang Kai-shek, dressed in a grand gown with colorful flowers hanging on his chest, walked out accompanied by the male bridesmaids Liu Jiwen and Kong Xiangxi.
Five minutes later, Song Meiling took Song Ziwen's arm and walked out, and there were four young ladies in front of her, Guo, Wang, Kong, and Ni as maids.
Song Meiling was wearing a silver cheongsam, white georgette pinned with a small orange-yellow flower, draped diagonally on her body, wearing a small crown made of flower buds, holding a bouquet of pink and snow-white roses, 10-year-old Miss Kong Er, Jenny, and Young Master Kong Louis followed behind her.

Hereby, Mr. Jiang Zhongzheng and Ms. Song Meiling held a wedding ceremony in the Chunjiang Dahua Auditorium.

Then, the witnesses, the officiant, and the marrying person use the seals in turn. Then the bride and groom bow to each other, bow to the witnesses, officiating and guests, and the wedding is completed to the sound of music. After the two went to the garden to take pictures, they returned to Song's house.
