First, the infrastructure has been strengthened. The total number of 5G base stations in China reached 32150,000, 5G industrial private network applications have accelerated, and lightweight core networks, software and hardware integration of private network solutions have been gradually applied. The test and verification of new technologies have been steadily promoted, and the testing of 5G-A core capabilities such as 5G LAN, high-precision timing and positioning, and passive IoT has been accelerated.

The development of "5G + Industrial Internet" presents three echelons

The Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao, and leading eastern provinces are in the first echelon of development, seizing the opportunity of "5G + Industrial Internet", strategically laying out emerging industries, and maintaining the leadership of advantageous economies. The eastern provinces and some of the leading provinces in the central and western regions are in the second echelon of development, driving the digital transformation of traditional industries through "5G + Industrial Internet" and seeking a breakthrough path for industrial development. Most of the central and western regions are in the third echelon of development, starting from characteristic industries and exploring the application of "5G + industrial Internet" locally.

On the whole, the policy environment continues to improve, and the top-level design of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the introduction of detailed support policies by local governments. 5G factories are advancing at a rapid pace

The 5G factory is an advanced factory that fully uses 5G as the representative digital technology and is widely used in the factory production site, forming a wide range of production units, deep integration of information (IT) and operation (OT), full use of data elements, and efficient empowerment of innovative applications.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released the 2023 5G Factory Directory, which includes 300 completed factories. From the perspective of industry, it has covered 25 major categories of the national economy, among which the number of 5G factories in general equipment manufacturing, computer communication and other electronic equipment manufacturing, electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing and other industries ranks in the forefront. From the perspective of enterprise types, the construction of ** enterprises, state-owned enterprises, private enterprises, joint ventures, foreign-funded enterprises and other entities has accelerated, of which large enterprises account for 527%, and small and medium-sized enterprises also reached 473%, forming a good situation of coordinated promotion of large and medium-sized enterprises.

According to the statistics of the Industrial Internet Industry Alliance, there are more than 2,000 5G factory seed projects in China, an increase of 255% compared with 2022. In order to ensure the high-quality construction of 5G factories, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology has preliminarily formed a total of 26 key capabilities in the first evaluation index, and promoted the evaluation and certification of 5G factories.

The "5G + Industrial Internet" integrated application pilot zone is an industrial cluster that gives full play to the advantages of "5G + Industrial Internet" new technologies, new facilities, new scenarios, new models and new business formats, closely serves the intelligent, green and integrated development of local industries, and has a national and regional demonstration effect.

Tang Libo said that the construction of the pilot area will further stimulate the innovation vitality of various market players, fully release the superimposed multiplication effect of "5G + Industrial Internet", and accelerate the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy. "The output of the demonstration capacity of the pilot area will form an ecological agglomeration effect, radiate and drive the surrounding areas, lead the country through demonstration, and promote the large-scale development of '5G + Industrial Internet'. ”
