Recently, Counterpoint Research, an authoritative market research agency, released smartphone sales data for 8 countries around the world in October 2023. The results show that the global sales performance of the iPhone is still strong, occupying the top position in the sales charts in many countries.
Specifically, the U.S. market has become the "stronghold" of the iPhone, with the iPhone 15 Pro Max topping the list with a market share of 24%. What's more worth mentioning is that the top four are all occupied by the iPhone series, which fully demonstrates the strong influence and user loyalty of the Apple brand in the US market.
In the Chinese market, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max also ranks first with a 5% market share, the Huawei Mate 60 Pro is just as impressive. It followed with a 4% market share, becoming the only domestic phone brand that can compete with the iPhone. This achievement not only demonstrates Huawei's competitiveness in the high-end mobile phone market, but also reflects the recognition and support of Chinese consumers for local brands.
In other countries, the iPhone also performed well. The iPhone 14 is the top seller in India, led by the iPhone 15 in Germany, and led by the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro in the UK and France, respectively. The only exception was South Korea, where the first place in sales was taken by the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5, which is also the only country out of eight countries where a non-iPhone brand occupies the top spot.
To sum up, the global sales performance of the iPhone is still strong, but domestic mobile phone brands such as Huawei are also constantly striving to improve their competitiveness and gradually narrow the gap with international brands such as Apple. In the future, with the continuous advancement of technology and the continuous change of consumer demand, the competition in the smartphone market will become more fierce and diversified.
