Autumn and Winter Check-in Challenge
Over the past year, Rolls-Royce has showcased a range of bespoke projects that cover everything from exterior and interior design to limited edition special editions for customer needs. Rolls-Royce has released its list of the 10 most loved customised vehicles for 2023.
This one-of-a-kind Cullinan was commissioned by the client's family to celebrate his birthday. The exterior features a new pearl-rose livery that matches the mother-of-pearl decoration in the compartment. The company says it is "the most pearl-using car ever used in a Rolls-Royce car", with a total of 1,351 individual pearls set in the cabin, presenting a unique Arabian design style.
The Blue Shadow livery for the Cullinan Black Badge is one of the best new exterior colors for 2023. But the design of this car is more than just a livery. It is inspired by the Kármán line, the line that separates the Earth's atmosphere from outer space. It boasts a custom starlight roof embroidered with a pattern of the moon's surface, surrounded by 1,183 twinkling fiber-optic "stars". The leather on the seats even has custom-designed perforations meant to mimic clouds. More than 75,000 individual piercings help create this effect.
The three bespoke Cullinan Black Badge models were created specifically for the Korean market, and they boast the most vibrant liveries of any Rolls-Royce model to date. The three new exterior shades – lime green, seductive Indy red, and vibrant Tukana purple – are designed to represent Seoul's nightlife.
Rolls-Royce has built only 12 Gust Amber Road models, inspired by the real Amber Road – an ancient road used to buy and sell amber for more than 3,500 years. The route is drawn on a custom starlight roof and dashboard. The seats take on a beautiful amber-like caramel color, while the exterior is painted in a dark amber color.
A customer wanted to put a full solar eclipse in his Rolls-Royce. The Gust Black Badge Eclipse features a custom starlight roof with 940 fiber-optic "stars" forming a circular pattern that mimics the eclipse around the moon's silhouette. When activated, the animation lasts for 7 minutes and 31 seconds – this is the longest duration of a solar eclipse.
There are other eclipse-inspired elements on the dashboard; There are 1,486 laser-engraved "stars" on the passenger side, representing the timeline of the eclipse from start to end. The most striking is a custom-made watch with a bezel set with half-carat diamonds.
How can you drive a Rolls-Royce without champagne?Elinor Rose commissioned this one-of-a-kind pink look Gust and named it after her popular social media account. The pink Gust has a few other custom trims, such as the "Champagne Rose" sill panels, her custom logo, and even a pink starlight headliner.
This custom Gust is all about history. The bespoke design pays homage to the city of Manchester and the Midland Hotel, where Charles Rolls and Henry Royce founded Rolls-Royce more than 117 years ago.
There are 10,000 laser-engraved dots on the dashboard depicting a bird's-eye view of the city of Manchester, with the largest dot marking the Midland Hotel, while the seats have a bespoke blue, black and white livery. But the most striking thing is the Manchester bee engraved on the back of the seat, which has been an icon of the city for more than 150 years.
This phantom has a whole watercolor on the dashboard. To celebrate the beauty of the Cinque Terre region in Italy, Rolls-Royce designers digitally painted a bespoke image of the Italian coast and hand-spray-painted that image onto the passenger-side dashboard.
The interior also features a custom starlight headliner with more than 14,000 stitches that outline the whole of Italy, with five larger "stars" highlighting the most important areas. The back door is embroidered with grape branches, each with more than 9,000 stitches, and the exterior is embellished with delicate grape logos.
Did you know that Rolls-Royce's Goodwood headquarters has a garden? The inspiration for this car came from this garden. Rolls-Royce designers spent more than 200 hours hand-embroidering roses in pink, red, yellow and white on their vehicles.
The dashboard and door panels are covered with floral motifs with four butterflies hidden among the flowers. The Starlight roof has custom embroidered flowers to match the dashboard, while the wooden paneling between the rear seats is also engraved with roses. It's also one of the most beautiful interiors that Rolls-Royce designers have ever created.
Rolls-Royce called it "the most complex bespoke commission ever". The car was created with Dutch designer Alice van Hepburn, a Rolls-Royce designer and her team that took 700 hours to complete the "we**ing water" effect.
This particular model marks the end of the Rolls-Royce Phantom and V12 engine range. Limited to 12 units worldwide. The design was inspired by George Eston, who set a land speed record at the Bonneville Salt Flats on September 16, 1938.
The starlight headset recreates the night sky with 2,117 fiber-optic stars. Laser-etched door panels mimic the cracked surface of salt flats, and a black-coated aluminium panel on the passenger-side dashboard displays the iconic Rolls-Royce V12.
