In the golden tobacco pile, Bi Suchun and his wife were sorting tobacco leaves, talking and laughing while working, and their faces were filled with the joy of a good harvest.
It is the season of flue-cured tobacco harvest, and after several months of hard work, this year's flue-cured tobacco harvest of Bi Suchun's family is in sight, and the couple are very pleased.
Bi Suchun is 45 years old this year, and is the village group leader of Bijia Village, Lang'e Village Committee, Chenghai Town, Yongsheng County, Lijiang City, Yunnan Province.
I had polio since I was born, I couldn't walk properly on my left foot, I didn't have much education, I couldn't find a good job when I was young, I couldn't do heavy work at home, it was really hard at that time, but I was lucky enough to meet my wife. Bi Suchun recalled.
Although Bi Suchun has a physical disability, he is honest, fair and decent, his wife gladly accepted Bi Suchun's pursuit, and with the encouragement of his wife, he rekindled his enthusiasm for life, and the couple maintained the life of the family by planting crops.
Bijia Village's water source conditions are not very good, every time the farming is busy with water, every household has to go to the field to guard the water, a few years ago, the villagers have to make trouble for the distribution of water every year, but as long as Bi Suchun is present, the contradiction will definitely be solved. Hai Quanan, the old secretary of the Lang'e Village Committee, said.
With his diligence and kindness, Bi Suchun has a good reputation in the village, and is deeply liked and trusted by the people of Bijia Village.
With the support and support of the villagers, Bi Suchun was successfully elected as the leader of the village group in 2016. After becoming the village head, Bi Suchun worked harder, taking the affairs of the village as his own business, carrying out planting technical guidance, mediating neighborhood disputes, and being busy every day, always thinking about the warmth and well-being of the villagers.
Bijia Village is far away from the township, the road traffic is inconvenient, limited by the remote geographical environment, more than 50 villagers are authentic farmers, relying on the fields to make a living, but the annual income is not good, and the income will be greatly affected.
Since 1993, Yongsheng County began to plant flue-cured tobacco, the flue-cured tobacco industry has continued to develop, and the villagers' enthusiasm for planting tobacco is getting higher and higher.
In the past, the roads in our village were so poor that it was very difficult to pull a little fertilizer and materials, and we all relied on people to carry horses and camels. Villager Bi Yunsheng said.
Before 2015, the traffic conditions in Bijia Village were relatively poor, and every household had to pass through a dirt road to get to the town, and when it rained, the road became muddy and impassable for vehicles.
In order to change this situation, Bi Suchun made up his mind to lead the villagers to build roads. He traveled to and from the homes of various villagers with difficulty on crutches, patiently and meticulously did mass work, and persuaded everyone to join in the work and repair roads.
More than 8,000 yuan of funds were obtained from the village committee, and the major project of road construction in Bijia Village was finally started. Although he couldn't do heavy physical work, he never left the construction site after he was busy with crutches during the road construction, for fear that the road would not be repaired well and he would live up to the expectations of the villagers.
After three months of unremitting efforts, more than 1,700 workers were put into the village, and the 3-kilometer path was finally completed. This road is not only a road to the outside world, but also a road to hope, which has completely changed the status quo of Bijia Village and paved a road to prosperity for the villagers. Bi Suchun actively sought policy support from the village committee, and the on-site village committee invested more than 2,000 yuan every year for the maintenance of roads, and the infrastructure of Bijia Village was continuously improved.
Although Bi Suchun is not highly educated, he is very studious, and in the promotion of crop planting technology, Bi Suchun always strives to be "the first person to eat crabs".

Last year, the tobacco company asked us to plant green manure to improve soil fertility, and everyone was reluctant to try it, so I was the first to do a demonstration to see the quality of my flue-cured tobacco this year, which sold at least seven or eight hundred yuan more per mu. Bi Suchun said.

In recent years, under his drive and demonstration, the planting technology of the villagers of Bijia Village has been greatly improved, and the industries such as flue-cured tobacco, broad beans and rapeseed have also developed better and better, and the planting area of flue-cured tobacco has increased from more than 50 acres at the beginning to more than 500 acres now, achieving an annual income of about 2.1 million yuan, and the life of the villagers is becoming more and more promising.
In the face of the injustice of fate, Bi Suchun did not complain, with a cane and a firm heart, he walked out of a life path that belonged to him, and wrote an ordinary but touching chapter of life with diligence, wisdom and courage.
There is still a long way to go, but the villagers of Bijia Village believe that as long as there is a village chief like Bi Suchun, this path to rural revitalization will be wider and wider.
