Red Flag Theater See the changes of an era from the Chengwu Red Flag Theater

One weekend in the winter of '23, a friend invited me to Chengwu County, Shandong Province, saying that there was a building from the "Cultural Revolution" period that you can't see now, and it would bring back memories of an era.

This immediately aroused my interest, so I accepted a friend's invitation and drove to Chengwu County, Shandong Province, on a weekend in early December.

According to the navigation, we saw this "Cultural Revolution" period building --- the Red Flag Theater in the northern section of Yongshun Road in Chengwu County.

Like most theaters of that era, this theater also has a unique name - Red Flag, Red Flag Theater, which is the exclusive body of great people.

The overall appearance of the Hongqi Theater is red, it is a brick and concrete structure, a two-story building, sitting east and facing west, the main entrance is facing west, and there are seven typing words on the top, which is the most obvious cultural symbol of that era.

The theater covers an area of 9,000 square meters, with a construction area of more than 3,300 square meters. The whole building is divided into four parts: platform, front hall, studio and back building from west to east, and the north and south are symmetrically distributed. It can be imagined that in that era, there was no TV, no self-improvement, no current entertainment facilities, this is the only place in the county that can be used for movies and cultural performances, and it has become a cultural "holy place" and cultural center in Chengwu County.

Hongqi Theater is a typical characteristic building in the 70s of the 20th century, with a large area, relatively complete preservation, obvious characteristics of the times, and is a special historical building in a specific period and a specific environment.

In March 2015, Hongqi Theater was approved as a municipal cultural relics protection unit by the people of Heze City.

I casually checked the information on my mobile phone and saw that the Hongqi Hongqi Theater passed the preliminary examination of the sixth batch of provincial cultural relics protection units in 2018;In 2020, it was announced by the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism as the first batch of revolutionary cultural relics in Shandong Province, and in 2022, it was announced as the sixth batch of provincial cultural relics protection by the people of Shandong Province.

According to the data, after the completion of the Red Flag Theater, the Red Flag Theater also hosted the county three cadres meeting, the party congress, the people's congress and other large-scale important meetings in Chengwu County at that time. It can be seen that this was also the political center of Chengwu County at that time. It can be imagined how lively and desirable the Hongqi Theater was at that time.

Nowadays, the Hongqi Theater has also undergone some changes, and I saw several signboards on the east side of the theater, which has become the location of a modern cultural industry.

Standing at the door of the Hongqi Theater and watching it stand quietly, it has been weathering the wind and rain for 50 years. In the past 50 years, China has undergone many changes, from the Cultural Revolution, to the smashing of the Gang of Four, to the Third Plenary Session of the 11th Central Committee, to the household contract system, to the reform and opening up, China's economy and society have made a qualitative leap. As a witness of the Cultural Revolution era, the Red Flag Theater has made a good witness to the people of Chengwu and the world!

May our country be politically clear, and may our people live and work in peace and contentment!

After 50 years of wind and rain, the Red Flag Theater is still majestic.

There seems to be a slogan that shatters the sky, and the quotations are raised and shouted.

In the blink of an eye, the prosperity is gone, and the tourists watch on the shore quietly.

Bibo was speechless and Shui Anlan casually left a message with this poem.
