In this book, archaeologist Jiao Tianlong, principal researcher of the Hong Kong Palace Museum, situates the Sanxingdui site within the larger framework of the world's bronze civilization, reconstructing the intricate regional civilizational exchanges and the historical motivations behind them. Wang Shengyu, an assistant researcher at the Hong Kong Palace Museum, combined her previous research on the integration of gold artifacts into early Chinese material culture, perusing the relatively small but important gold artifacts in Sanxingdui and Jinsha sites.

Lei Yu, a researcher at the Sichuan Provincial Institute of Archaeology and the leader of the archaeological excavation team at the Sanxingdui site, deeply interpreted the archaeological process of Sanxingdui from the last century to the present, focusing on the six sacrificial pits discovered in 2019 and the new knowledge of the ancient Shu civilization. Xu Jie, director of the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, who has devoted himself to the research, archaeology and exhibition of Sanxingdui for decades, put forward new insights into the bronze art and casting technology of the Sanxingdui civilization.
