In order to continue to deepen maritime law enforcement cooperation between the coast guards of the two countries and jointly maintain the security and stability of the waters of the Beibu Gulf, from November 29 to December 1, China Coast Guard ships and Vietnamese coast guard ships carried out the second joint patrol in the waters of the Beibu Gulf in 2023. During the operation, the Chinese and Vietnamese coast guard ships carried out law enforcement and supervision of the operating vessels of the two countries in accordance with the established plan and route, carried out publicity and education for fishing boaters, cruised for a total of 53 hours and 330 nautical miles, observed and recorded 74 Chinese fishing boats and 35 Vietnamese fishing boats, shouted education and reminded 19 ships, and boarded and inspected 2 ships, and the order of marine production and operation was generally good.
The joint patrol in the waters of the Beibu Gulf is a concrete measure to implement the important consensus of the two parties and two countries on deepening maritime law enforcement cooperation between the two countries, and is carried out twice a year, which has become a model of maritime law enforcement cooperation in the South China Sea, and has played a positive role in jointly cracking down on maritime crimes and maintaining regional security and stability. After the end of the joint patrol, at the invitation of the China Coast Guard, the Vietnamese Coast Guard ship 8002 set off for a five-day goodwill visit to Guangzhou. During this period, the Chinese and Vietnamese coast guards will hold a series of activities such as joint exercises, ship visits, and cultural and sports exchanges, so as to further strengthen exchanges and interactions between law enforcement personnel of the two countries and strengthen the cooperative relationship between the Chinese and Vietnamese coast guards.
