In order to help the growth and development of young scientific and technological workers in the field of environment in Northeast China, promote cooperation and exchanges between young scholars in Northeast China and scholars from other regions in China, and better serve the economic revitalization and ecological environment improvement of Northeast China, the 3rd Northeast Environment and Ecology Young Scholars Forum was held in Dalian from November 26th to 28th. With the theme of "Environmental Pollutant Risk Screening, Comprehensive Prevention and Control, and Intelligent Control", the conference was jointly sponsored by our university, the Key Laboratory of Industrial Ecology and Environmental Engineering of the Ministry of Education, the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the National Marine Environmental Monitoring Center, and the Dalian Ecological Environment Bureau, and organized by the School of Environment of our university. Ren Hongqiang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhao Jianhua, deputy director of the National Marine Environmental Monitoring Center, Zhang Guohui, secretary general of the Liaoning Environmental Science Society, Qu Tianqiao, deputy director of the Dalian Ecological Environment Bureau, Zhu Fangwei, vice president of our university, and nearly 400 experts, scholars, researchers, managers and representatives of enterprises and institutions engaged in the field of environmental ecology attended the meeting.
On the morning of the 27th, Zhao Jianhua, Zhang Guohui, Qu Tianqiao, and Zhu Fangwei delivered speeches at the opening ceremony. In the report session of the conference, Academician Ren Hongqiang, Professor Xu Shunqing of Hainan University, and Professor Chen Jingwen of the School of Environment of our university respectively made reports on topics such as "Reflections on the Construction of Ecological Environment Standard System in the New Era", "Health Risks of Pesticide Exposure during Pregnancy", and "Environmental Computational Toxicology for the Treatment of New Pollutants: Progress and Prospects". The opening ceremony and the conference were presided over by Professor Liu Meng and Professor Quan Xie, Dean of the School of Environment, respectively.
During the conference, 12 sub-forums were held, covering topics such as urban and industrial water treatment and recycling, solid waste safe disposal and recycling, atmospheric chemistry and pollution control, offshore or watershed ecological environment and health, new pollutant detection, toxicology and ecological risks, environmental functional materials, etc., and also held the environmental frontier technology cross-forum, the national excellent postdoctoral exchange forum, the face-to-face face of the editor-in-chief of well-known journals, the editorial board of CCL Environmental Chemistry in Northeast China, More than 100 industry experts shared their reports at a number of special meetings such as the open recruitment of the EEH Northeast Regional Editorial Board and the Preparatory Editorial Board and the Northeast Environmental Protection Industry Technology Matchmaking Conference. The participating scholars carried out in-depth exchanges on the latest research progress and experience in environmental monitoring, evaluation and governance, and had a heated discussion on some hot issues, which not only had important academic significance, but also provided valuable ideas and methods for solving environmental and ecological problems in Northeast China.
At the end of the meeting, the participating scholars conducted an investigation of the ecological environment of Dalian City and visited the History Museum of Dagong University to gain an in-depth understanding of the development history of Dagong and the work and contributions made by the School of Environment in the field of ecological environment.
This forum provides a platform for cooperation and exchanges between government, industry, academia and research, promotes academic exchanges and cooperation in the field of environment and ecology in Northeast China, improves the scientific research level and innovation ability of young scholars, and also contributes wisdom and strength to the development of environmental ecology in Northeast China. With the joint efforts of all parties, the environmental and ecological undertakings in Northeast China will continue to make new breakthroughs and developments, and play an important role in promoting regional social and economic development, ecological environment construction, and harmonious coexistence between man and nature.
