(1) Fragmentation: The phenomenon of cracking of the tablet is called fragmentation (often top fissure or waist fissure).

Causes: The elastic recovery rate of the tablet (related to the properties of the material) and the uneven pressure distribution are the main reasons. In addition, improper or insufficient use of adhesive, too much fine powder, too dry particles, and too fast pressurization can cause cracking.

Solution: Replace with plastic excipients, dry moderately, choose the appropriate adhesive and dosage, reduce fine powder, etc.

2) Loose tablets: refers to the phenomenon that the hardness of the tablets is not enough, and the phenomenon of falling apart after a little touch is called loose tablets.

Causes: It is related to many factors such as pressure and the amount of adhesive.

Solution: Adjust the pressure and increase the adhesive appropriately.

3) Sticking: refers to the phenomenon that a thin layer or a small part of the surface of the tablet is glued off by the punch, resulting in rough unevenness or dents on the surface of the tablet.

Causes: The particles are not dry enough or the material is easy to absorb moisture, the lubricant is not selected properly or the amount is insufficient, and the surface of the punch is rusted or the engraving is rough and glossy.

Solution: It should be based on the actual situation.

4) Tablet weight difference exceeds the limit: the weight of the tablet exceeds the allowable range of weight difference specified in the pharmacopoeia.

Causes: Poor fluidity of particles;Too much fine powder or uneven particles;Fill the hopper inside.
