Cy5 peanut agglutinin is a peanut-targeting lectin that binds to the sugar chain structure in peanut protein, thereby causing agglutination of peanut protein. This agglutination can be used to detect and isolate peanut proteins, as well as to study the interaction between sugar chain structure and proteins.
The advantage of Cy5 peanut agglutinin lies in its good specificity and sensitivity. It is able to identify parts of the sugar chain structure, thus avoiding interference from other similar substances. In addition, Cy5 Peanut Agglutinin can also bind to fluorescent dyes, enabling it to emit a strong fluorescent signal under fluorescence microscopy, further improving the sensitivity and accuracy of the assay.
