Mondo Tourism Updated on 2024-01-31

On the National Day of 2023, I came to the beautiful Xishuangbanna. Mengxi Cultural Tourism Zone is the sixth scenic spot of my trip. Mengxi Cultural Tourism Zone, formerly known as Mengxi Big Buddha Temple, was only renamed in January 2020 and is a 4A-level scenic spot. I took a look at the navigation, and it turned out that this place was on the edge of Jinghong City, only about 5 kilometers away from where I lived, and I happily went there. When I drove close to the Mengxi Cultural Tourism Zone, the scenery in front of me made my heart flutter!I saw that not far from the mountain, on the waist of the mountain, stands a golden Buddha, facing the Jinghong urban area, overlooking all living beings, under the illumination of the afternoon light, this mountain is full of mysterious golden light. What a vivid Buddhist scene!I wanted to capture the scene, but I was driving and couldn't stop on the road to shoot, so I had to give up. The following picture uses the online **, thanks to the **provider.

Mengxi Cultural Tourism Zone, ticket 120 yuan. When I showed my veterans' card and old age card, I was told that I still had to pay half price. Mengxi Cultural Tourism Zone is the highest charge among the scenic spots in Xishuangbanna. When I came to the gate of Mengxi Cultural Tourism Zone, the word Mengxi stumped me again, how to pronounce this word? What do you mean?If you don't know how to learn, travel is to learn while playing, and constantly enrich your life. 泐, pronounced lè, means that the stone is cracked according to the texture. Mengxi is the ancient name of Xishuangbanna. The Dai people are a people who believe in Southern Buddhism. Buddhist temple buildings can be seen everywhere here, and almost every village has Buddhist temples and pagodas. Buddhist temples and pagodas have become the central venues for the life of the Dai people and the temples in people's minds. Buddhist Culture Buddhist architecture is the precious spiritual wealth of the Dai people. When Dai boys are 8-10 years old, they enter the monastery to live as monks, where they learn to read and write, and after a few years of study, they return home. Every important festival such as the Songkran Festival, the Closing Festival, and the Open Door Festival, the Dai family has to go to the Buddhist temple to worship the Buddha. Today, there are more than 500 Buddhist temples and more than 200 stupas in the Dai villages of Xishuangbanna. The Mengxi Big Buddha Temple is the largest of all the local Buddhist temples, and its status is also supreme, and it is a holy place in the minds of the Dai family. Mengxi Big Buddha Temple, was built in the Ming Dynasty, formerly known as "Jingpiao Buddha Temple", destroyed in the Qing Xianfeng period (AD 1848). It was built by a Dai king named Diaolong in the history of the Dai nationality to commemorate the death of the princess Nansha Weibian. The princess believed in Buddhism all her life, so every festival the king of Dai came to the temple in person to hold a large-scale festival to commemorate the concubine and promote the Dharma. In 2005, a huge amount of money was spent on the original site to rebuild the Mengxi Big Buddha Temple, and this famous royal temple finally reappeared on Nanlian Mountain in Jinghong City, and built it into a 4A-level tourist attraction. After entering the gate, I first saw the statue of the first Dai king Paya Zhen. The name of the first generation of Dai King was Zhao Zhenhan, and the people respected him as Paya Zhen. Paya Zhen means heroic in the Dai language.

In 542 of the Dai calendar (1180 AD), the state of Mengxi in the middle and lower reaches of the Lancang River basin was established with Jinghong as the center, ending the 200-year-long melee between the princes of various tribes. Mengxi State submitted to the canonization of the ** (Southern Song Dynasty) Emperor, after the Central Plains Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing and other regime changes, its ruling power was inherited from generation to generation, nearly 800 years, until the liberation of Xishuangbanna.

The statue of Paya Zhen is 3 meters high, all bronze molding, symbolizing the mountain and river murals of Xishuangbanna, showing the process of Pa Yazhen's unification of Xishuangbanna and the peace and prosperity of Xishuangbanna after the unification.

I came to the Jingpiao Hall. The main hall, also known as the main hall, is the core building of the entire temple, and it is also the place where the monks concentrate on their practice in the morning and evening, and the main hall enshrines the golden Buddha statue of the Buddha Shakyamuni. The Jingpiao Hall was rebuilt on the site of the original Jingpiao Buddha Temple, and there are exquisite murals on the surrounding walls of the days when Shakyamuni Buddha became a monk, practiced and became a Buddha. The main hall is 49 meters long, 29 meters wide and 35 meters high, which condenses the essence of Xishuangbanna Buddhist architecture and is the most similar hall building at present.

Out of the Jingpiao Palace, I came to Luohan Slope. There are 81 arhats with different expressions standing on both sides of the stairs up the mountain, and the scenery is spectacular.

On both sides of the stairs up the mountain, there are exquisite dragon motifs. It makes people feel like they have arrived in a holy realm.

This is a holy place of Buddhism, the incense is vigorous, the scriptures are loud, the dragon protects the road, the arhats welcome guests, and the Bodhi tree is full of blessing cards.

I came to the auspicious Buddha spot. The auspicious Buddha, is the real body statue of Shakyamuni Buddha when he was 35 years old, 49 meters high, is the largest Buddha statue in Southeast Asia, brass casting. Under the Buddha statue, there is a column of big characters "Big Buddha bless peace".

This 49-meter-tall auspicious Buddha overlooks the earth with a kind face, teaching people to be merciful and do more good deeds for Huai. The palm of the left hand naturally droops outward, warning people to put an end to all greed, hatred, and obsession; The right hand auspicious lotus finger is stretched out on the chest, instructing people to be peaceful and calm in their hearts and get rid of all the shackles of pain.

I came to the foot of the holy Bodhi tree, which was the "immediate family" of the Bodhi tree that Buddha Shakyamuni had an epiphany of sitting meditation. The original tree of the "Holy Bodhi Tree" was burned down during the war in India, and the "Holy Bodhi Tree" was transplanted to Sri Lanka when the daughter of Emperor Ashoka of India, Sanghamita, went to Sri Lanka to promote Buddhism, so that the "Holy Bodhi Tree" was able to preserve its bloodline. In 2005, the seedlings were donated by Sri Lanka and were enshrined here in 2008. The linden tree is a ficus plant of the mulberry family, with a straight trunk, gray bark, a wavy round crown, and overhanging aerial roots. The Bodhi tree is the national tree of India and the city tree of Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna Prefecture.

I came to the hilltop park of the scenic spot, and as soon as I saw the splendid Shwedagon Pagoda of Zhuangkai located on the top of the mountain, I was shocked by its exquisiteness!

A group of golden pagodas are towering into the sky, and the tower base is carved with all kinds of gods, birds, and beasts, and the shape is very exquisite. The whole tower body and the lake in front of it form a perfect reflection, and with the lotus flower in the lake, I sighed while pressing the shutter, I seem to have come to a fairyland!

Zhuangkai Shwedagon Pagoda, with a diameter of about 60 meters and a height of about 80 meters, is the largest golden pagoda in Southeast Asia and a landmark building in Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna. Shwedagon Pagoda consists of a main tower, 8 secondary towers, and 16 small pagodas. There are gates on all sides, and each gate is guarded by a pair of town tower mascots.

I walked around the Shwedagon Pagoda and was amazed by the splendid Buddhist architecture!Feel the artistic charm of this group of exquisite Buddhist buildings.

As a photography enthusiast, I think this place is a photo spot that is not easy to come across. The scenery has the style of Buddhism, and there are also exotic (Thailand, India). So, I put on a Dai costume and took a lot of beautiful photos here.

The scenic spot also built a U-shaped glass plank road, and visitors can stand on it and overlook the panoramic view of Jinghong City.

There is also a Songkran Square in the scenic area, and the Songkran Festival activities are carried out regularly every day. At that time, tourism projects such as peacock release will also be held, allowing tourists to experience the ethnic customs of Xishuangbanna.

Mengxi Cultural Tourism Zone has a mysterious and profound Buddhist culture, profound ethnic customs and beautiful scenery. Friends, have time to travel!Sisters, don't forget to wear Dai costumes to take beautiful photos. National Day tour Xishuangbanna (6) The splendid Mengxi Big Buddha Temple
