Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, our army has undergone more than a dozen major disarmaments. Among them, the iconic one has 4 times:
The first time was in 1955, before the great awarding of titles, our army was suddenly reduced from 70 corps to 34 corps;
The second time was in 1985, when our army abolished 10 armies and retained 24 armies and changed them into group armies
The third time was in 2003, when our army was reduced from 24 group armies to 18;
The fourth was in 2017, when it was reorganized into 13 army groups on the basis of 18 army groups.
At the first node, due to the need to build the Great Northwest, Peng Zongyiye only retained 1 army.
From 1955 to 2017, there have been great changes: the troops of the First Field and North China Military Regions have retained representative ace troops: the 1st Group Army and the 65th Group Army;The strongest four armies evolved from 11 armies to five group armies, and Sanye evolved from nine group armies in 1955 to three group armies.
The Second Field Army evolved from 5 to 3 group armies, and it was the field army with the largest retention ratio.
The starting point of our army was the Nanchang Uprising on August 1, 1927.
In addition, there were armed uprisings such as Autumn Harvest and Guangzhou. At the beginning of the founding of the army, the strength of our army was still very weak: more than 20,000 people in the Nanchang Uprising were preserved, more than 800 people were saved, more than 5,000 people were preserved in the Autumn Harvest Uprising, more than 800 people were preserved in the Autumn Harvest Uprising, and more than 5,000 people were preserved in the Guangzhou Uprising.
After six years of hard work, the Red Army reached its peak of 300,000 men in 1933.
After the Long March reached northern Shaanxi, the total number of Red Army troops was 750,000 people, more than 10,000 guerrillas in the eight provinces south of the Yangtze River.
After eight years of all-out war of resistance, the Eighth Route Army and the New Fourth Army grew to 1.02 million people. After the end of the War of Liberation, the total number of troops of our army reached the first peak of 5.5 million, and it was reorganized into 19 corps and 70 corps of the five major field troops. These 70 armies include 3 armies in the northwest and 67 corps in the five major field armies.
Eight of these 70 armies were once subordinate to the major military regions: the 19th Army in southern Shaanxi, the 32nd Army in Jiaodong, the 50th Army in the northeast, the 55th Army in central and southern China, the 58th Army in the Central Plains, and the Independent Army in the Northwest Military Region.
After the end of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, our army entered a period of peaceful construction.
Therefore, before the awarding of titles in 1955, the numbers of the 70 armies were reduced by half, and the six major military regions only retained the 34 armies of the original five major field troops. Among them, the first field compressed the most, and only one 1st army and 3 divisions were retained in the 7 armies.
Half of the 10 armies of the Second Field were retained, the 12th Army brought out by Wang Jinshan, the 13th Army and the 14th Army evolved from the 386th Brigade of Chen Geng's 129th Division, Qin Jiwei's 15th Army who became famous in the First Battle of Shangganling to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, and the 16th Army from the Red One.
Sanye retained 9 armies and ranked second among the five major field troops, namely the ace army from the New Fourth Army and the ace army from the Shandong Eighth Route Army.
Siye retains 11 armies, namely the "Dongye Five Tiger Army, the Rising Show Army, the Rebel Army, and the Ace Army of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea."
Before the awarding of titles by the whole army, 8 of the 10 armies of the North China Military Region that benefited the most were retained: the 60th Army built by the first hand, the old army army of Jinchaji, and the 69th Army adapted from the Suiyuan Uprising.
Thirty years in Hedong and 30 years in Hexi, in 1985, the situation of major disarmament changed abruptly.
The original 34 armies were greatly reduced to 24 group armies, and the most dismantled units were the "Imperial Forest Army" of the North China Military Region, which was reduced from eight armies to one Dumiao 65 Group Army, and the remaining seven armies were successively dismantled in the past 30 years.
However, in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, several armies of the North China Military Region performed well, except that they were a little behind the troops of the Fourth Field and were on a par with the Third Field and the Second Field Army.
In 1985, the North China Military Region was dismantled a lot, and this had a great deal to do with the easing of the international environment.
The four old troops with the most ace troops have been reduced from 11 corps to 7:
Four of the "Five Northeast Tigers" that were majestic in the past have been retained, namely the 38th Army of the "Long Live Army", the 39th Army of the "Northeast Tiger King", the 40th Army of the "Whirlwind Wrong", and the 41st Army of Tashan Heroes, except for the 43rd Army of the "Iron Army" that was absent from the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea.
The fate of the 43rd Army is completely different from that of the old powerhouse of the 47th Army and the later Show Army.
In this ** disarmament, only the 22nd Army was missing from the 9 armies of Sanye, and the remaining 8 armies were retained, that is, the old and new Fourth Army Group Army, the old Eighth Route Army and the 31st Group Army.
In this round of large-scale disarmament, the only one of the five major field units that was "untouched" was Liu Deng's old unit, and except for the 15 th Army, which was changed to the only airborne unit of our army, the remaining four armies were all grouped.
After the grouping of our army, it went through the period of 21 group armies and 18 group armies.
In 2003, our army officially entered the era of the 18th Group Army.
The representatives of the First Field and the North China Military Region were the First Group Army, and three group armies of the Third Field were successively abolished, and five other group armies were retained.
In this ** disarmament, the 4 armies of the 2nd field and the 7 group armies of the 4th field were all retained.
In 2017, the seven military regions evolved into five major theaters, and the 18 group armies were integrated into 13.
The ace unit of our army has undergone the last ** reshuffle. This time it is no longer a simple reduction and retention, but an orderly integration of the 18 group armies, so it cannot simply be said which group army has been retained or dismantled.
However, many military fans still habitually lean on the teams of the 13 group armies to the five major field armies.
From this point of view, the number of group armies dominated by the five major field troops in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China can be roughly divided into: Lin Zong's old four field troops retained the most, with four group armies;Liu Deng's Erye followed, with 3 group armies and airborne troops.
And then there is the old army of Su Yu's Sanye, which has 3 group armies;In the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, a large number of Peng Zong's old troops were localized and converted into the Construction Corps, and only one group army has been retained so farAfter the national environment eased, the troops of the North China Military Region, which had performed a little worse during the war years, were also greatly reduced, and only one group army was retained.
Mr. Lin's four old troops are all trump cards from the Red Army and the 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army, and they have retained the most from beginning to endCompared with the Second Field and the Third Field, the Red Army and the Anti-Japanese War period were more brilliant, so the proportion of retained in the previous major disarmaments was the highest.
