2. Important reminder.

At present, the security situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is grim and complex, and vicious cases involving Chinese citizens have occurred frequently. The security situation in North Kivu, South Kivu and Ituri provinces in the eastern part of the Congo continues to deteriorate, and the security situation in the capital Kinshasa and surrounding provinces is not optimistic. Illegal armed activities such as M23, CODECO, ADF, and MOBONDO are becoming more and more rampant. During the rainy season, the risk of natural disasters increases.

The Chinese Embassy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) once again solemnly reminds compatriots that they are not allowed to travel to high-risk areas such as Ituri, North Kivu, South Kivu and Haut-Uélé provinces in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is prudent to travel to 9 provinces, including Lualaba, Haut Katanga, Baja Uélé, Tanganyika, Manema, Central Kasai, Sankuru, Lomami, and Alkhan Lomami. Chinese citizens who have not yet reported their personal information should report their personal information to the embassy as soon as possible (please refer to the operation process: For those who refuse to report information and insist on going to or staying in the above areas, they will be personally responsible for all the consequences arising therefrom.)

Armed robbery, burglary and other vicious security incidents in Kolwezi, Lubumbashi, Likasi and other places in the southeast of the country are still showing a high incidence trend, and the level of violence is increasing.

Chinese citizens and Chinese-funded institutions in the country are requested to resolutely put an end to paralysis and luck, pay close attention to the local security situation, strengthen risk prevention awareness, increase security investment with the highest standards, and coordinate safety and production and operation. Chinese-funded institutions located in areas where the security situation has deteriorated significantly are requested to take effective measures to avoid non-essential outings, reduce non-essential personnel, and conscientiously make emergency plans for adjusting production, operation and personnel arrangements in the event of an emergency.

In case of emergency, please call the police and contact the embassy in time.
