Shi Jin, deputy head of the Zhujiang Film Studio Actors Troupe, formerly known as Zhou Licheng and formerly known as Zhou Xiaobin, was born in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province on September 26, 1923. When Shi Jin was 15 years old, the Anti-Japanese War broke out. The Japanese invaders marched south and soon occupied Shi Jin's hometown.
Harboring a national hatred and family enmity against the Japanese invaders, Shi Jin fled his hometown and went into exile all the way south to Guilin, Guangxi, where he continued his studies at a middle school in Guilin. However, less than a year later, as the Japanese invaded Guangxi, Shi Jin was forced to drop out of Guilin Middle School. After being introduced by a classmate, Shi Jin participated in the seventh team of the anti-enemy drama of the National ** Military Committee. He has participated in performances such as "Plugging the Wind and Cloud", "Chongqing Twenty-four Hours", "Home", "Fascist Bacteria" and other dramas. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Shi Jin came to Hong Kong with the original anti-enemy drama team No. 7, and joined the anti-enemy drama team No. 5 who arrived in Hong Kong at that time to form the Chinese Song and Dance Drama Art Society, which toured all over Nanyang.
At the beginning of 1949, Shi Jin left the troupe and went to the guerrilla areas along the Dongjiang River in Guangdong, where he served as the first team leader of the South China Art Troupe of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
In October 1949, Shi Jin led the members of the art troupe to follow the People's Liberation Army into Guangzhou to carry out post-war reconstruction work.
In 1953, the South China Art Troupe was reorganized into the Guangdong Provincial Repertory Theatre, during which Shi Jin, who had already served as the leader of the troupe, participated in the performances of "Sharing Joys and Sorrows", "Looking West to Chang'an", "Red Storm", "Thunderstorm", "Soldiers Coming to the City", "Thunderstorm" and other dramas. He has directed dramas such as "The White-Haired Girl", "Red Flag Song", and "Capture the Seal".
In 1960, Shi Jin was transferred to Zhujiang Film Studio as an actor. He has successively filmed films such as "Heroic Poems", "Tracking and Pursuit", "Big Waves and Sand", "Red Plum in the Mountains", "Blue Sky Defense Line", "Fighting Shark", "Overseas Child", "Spring Rain Xiaoxiao", "Fog is Boundless", "Oriental Sword", "Dragon Out of the Sea" and other films.
In the sixties and eighties of the twentieth century, Shi Jin was widely known as a famous film actor on the Chinese screen. He has starred in many dramas and movies, created many characters, and made positive contributions to the drama and film industry of New China.
In 1995, Shi Jin won the "Special Honor Award" of the 5th China Film Performing Arts Society Awards.
On January 4, 2018, Shi Jin died of illness in Guangzhou, Yangcheng, at the age of 95.
