During the year, a total of 253 police officers and 164 auxiliary police officers died in the line of duty, and 4,565 police officers and 3,311 auxiliary police officers were injured in the line of duty. They used their lives and blood to write heroic hymns in the new era. In order to commend their heroic deeds and encourage the police to advocate and learn from heroic models, the Ministry of Public Security awarded (posthumously) a total of 5 first-class heroes and 143 second-class heroes.
