Bu Yuru, a friend of Shandong Leling, as Kong Bohua's in-house, was deeply influenced by his teacher's true medical Taoism. His father was recommended as filial piety, and he also served as a teacher in Zhang Xueliang's family in Northeast China, and this family background immersed him in the ocean of knowledge since he was a child. Bu Yuru was born in the world of intellectuals, is well versed in medical science, and treats people with approachability.
In terms of medical skills, Bu Yuru clarified the false rumors about Kong Lao from the outside world. He pointed out that Kong Lao, like Zhang Shoufu in the Northeast, was good at using gypsum, but he was not as drastic as rumored, using 100 grams at every turn. The two of them are called the "two kings", but in reality they are not. Bu Yuru emphasized that Mr. Kong and Mr. Zhang Shoufu are very cautious about the use of gypsum, and generally only use it when the condition requires it.
In 1985, I had the privilege of meeting Bu Yuru in Shijiazhuang. He reiterated this point, adding that for febrile venereal diseases, his mentor Kong Lao generally only prescribed about 20 grams of plaster, and rarely used 60 grams. Compared with the amount of use he used by Mr. Zhang Shoufu, it is simply a world of difference. Bu Yuru emphasized that the medical cases of the two masters circulating in society should be revised and corrected.
Bu Yuru not only has profound attainments in medical skills, but he is also approachable. He always patiently listens to the patient's condition, carefully analyzes the condition, and then gives a reasonable plan. There is an innate affinity in his speech and demeanor, which makes people feel more cordial and trusting.
Overall, Bu Yuru is a highly skilled and approachable doctor. His story shows us the qualities and spirit of a true healer.
