Lama Temple is a Tibetan Buddhist Gelugpa monastery located in Dongcheng District, Beijing. It was built in the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, formerly known as the "cattle camp", which was the horse pen and hunting ground of the Qing Dynasty emperor. Later, Emperor Yongzheng rebuilt this place into a palace, and changed one of its halls into a lama temple to worship Buddha statues and **. As a result, Lama Temple became one of the centers of Tibetan Buddhism in China and an important part of Chinese history and culture.
The main buildings of Lama Temple include the Daxiong Treasure Hall, the Tianwang Palace, the Lama Temple Tower, and the Wanfu Pavilion.
