Drinking tea has many benefits, such as protecting cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, preventing cancer, and delaying aging. So, after donating blood, can you speed up your recovery by drinking tea?

According to the regulations, the amount of blood donated by blood donors should be controlled between 200 and 400 milliliters each time, and the whole blood contains about 55% plasma and 45% blood cells, and the plasma will be replenished in about 10 hours by drinking water and eating. It takes about 3 days to synthesize the most red blood cells, which are mainly hemoglobin, and iron is one of the important raw materials of hemoglobin.

When the body accelerates the compensatory synthesis of red blood cells, it will consume more iron, and tea and its extract tea contain tannic acid, which can combine with iron to form water-insoluble chelates, so that the body can reduce the absorption of iron, thus affecting the synthesis of hemoglobin.

In addition, the caffeine contained in tea can excite the central nervous system of the human body and enhance the excitability of the cerebral cortex, thereby hindering the rest of the body and affecting the recovery of the body.

Therefore, it is not advisable to drink tea after blood donation, especially strong tea. After donating blood, you can eat some foods that promote hematopoiesis, such as animal offal, various lean meats, soybeans, black rice, walnuts, etc.;It is also necessary to pay attention to vitamin C supplementation, which can promote the absorption of iron and effectively achieve the purpose of blood replenishment.

In addition, after donating blood, you should avoid strenuous exercise, do not stay up late, ensure adequate sleep, and generally do not need to take medication, and the body can recover quickly.
