Talent is prosperous, and the city is prosperous.

At present, Changsha, the provincial capital, is making every effort to build a global R&D center city, and the efforts to attract and recruit talents are increasing. In the context of high-quality development in major cities, as the supporting end of the talent training chain, "integrated and integrated training of top-notch innovative talents" has become the proper meaning of basic education.

How should middle schools lay a good "front station" for the cultivation of top-notch innovative talents and high-quality development? How to plan the talent training system as a whole from the talent export? In the past few days, Xie Yonghong, President of the High School Affiliated to Hunan Normal University and President of the Alumni Association, went to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and visited the National Supercomputing Guangzhou Center, Huawei's Bantian Base, and Jianfan Biotechnology Group Co., Ltd. to understand the supercomputing, information and communication technology, and biomedical industries, explore the "leading high school + scientific research institution + high-tech enterprise" top-notch innovative talent training model, and vigorously promote the entrepreneurial development of "alumni returning to Hunan Province".

Story 1 Two scientists walked out of a class.

On December 16, Lu Yutong, a 1986 alumnus of the High School Affiliated to Hunan Normal University, director of the National Supercomputer Guangzhou Center and doctoral supervisor of the School of Computer Science of Sun Yat-sen University, brought the guests of his alma mater to the second floor of the supercomputer center. Here, a row of black computers is running at a rapid pace. This is the famous "Tianhe-2" supercomputer!

Lu Yutong is the deputy chief designer of Tianhe-2. This gentle, intellectual, and elegant woman is a legend in China's supercomputing community, not only the first female scholar to serve as an ISC fellow of international supercomputing, but also the first Chinese scientist to serve as the chairman of the conference in its more than 30-year history. From June 2013 to May 2016, it won the top 500 supercomputers in the world (TOP500) for six consecutive times, breaking the long-term monopoly of the United States and Japan on the top spot in the world's supercomputing and rewriting the world pattern of supercomputing.

Lu Yutong fondly recalled the six-year study experience of his alma mater. "The high school attaches great importance to broadening students' horizons, attaches importance to the cultivation of comprehensive qualities such as moral character and personal ability, and has a strong and free learning atmosphere. She said that she embarked on the road of scientific research because of an off-campus outreach activity in the first year of high school: on the same day, the school organized everyone to visit the "Yinhe No. 1" at the National University of Defense Science and Technology, and she was immediately attracted by this bulky, wire-filled supercomputer. Through further study, she realized the important role of supercomputing and planted the seeds of scientific research in her heart. When filling in the college entrance examination volunteer, I did not hesitate to choose the Department of Computer Science of the National University of Defense Technology, and since then I have formed a deep fate with supercomputing.

In the digital information age, supercomputing is very important for a country, and plays a fundamental role in many national strategic fields and industries of the national economy and people's livelihood. Lu Yutong said.

The High School Affiliated to Hunan Normal University has always paid attention to the cultivation of top-notch innovative talents, and has sent a large number of outstanding talents to all walks of life. Not long ago, Ding Hong, who had just been elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was also a student of the High School Affiliated to Hunan Normal University. Lu Yutong told reporters with a smile that he and Academician Ding Hong were classmates in junior high school. Both of them are studying in the junior high school of the High School Affiliated to Normal University, and the high school is also in the High School. Academician Ding Hong then revealed to the Changsha Evening News reporter through WeChat that he was about to start scientific research cooperation with his old classmates.

Story 2: Leading HiSilicon to create a "myth" in the chip industry

In August this year, Huawei Mate 60 exploded out of the circle and sold out on the shelves. Subsequently, the sales fever, discussion fever, and dismantling fever followed, becoming the rare phenomenon-level explosive product with the highest popularity and the widest attention in the global mobile phone market in recent years. This product chip is independently developed by Huawei and produced by HiSilicon Semiconductor. HiSilicon is the world's leading fabless semiconductor and device design company, and the head of the company is He Tingbo, a native of Changsha.

He Tingbo is the president of HiSilicon, a member of Huawei's board of directors, and the developer of Kirin chips, known as the "Queen of Huawei Chips". She is an alumnus of the High School Affiliated to Hunan Normal University in 1987, one year lower than Lu Yutong and Ding Hong. On December 16, Xie Yonghong and his entourage visited Huawei's Bantian base and had an in-depth exchange with He Tingbo. He Tingbo recalled that what impressed her the most was the school's colorful practical activities and strong sports atmosphere, "It seems that you have to be kicked out of the classroom to exercise every day." He Tingbo said that the school's free style of study allowed her to deepen her knowledge in her own way. It not only pursues problem solving, but also pursues the integration of the underlying logic and knowledge of the problem.

In middle school, He Tingbo's grades have always been top-notch, and he chose to major in semiconductors when filling in the college entrance examination, and was admitted to Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and went to work at Huawei after graduating with a master's degree. As one of the few female researchers, her office colleagues take good care of her and try not to assign her too difficult work. But what surprised people was that after He Tingbo finished the assigned work, he would take the initiative to find something to do. And as soon as she got up to work, she forgot the time, and was often the last to leave in the office, and the company's leaders, including Ren Zhengfei, quickly noticed this talent.

In just a few years, HiSilicon has created an industry myth and rapidly grown into the world's fifth largest chip giant, with its self-developed Kirin series processors going from obscurity to the world's second largest market share.

Story 3: Achieve "corner overtaking" in an unpopular industry

In addition to supercomputing and information and communication technology, the biomedical industry is also the focus of the visit. On December 17, Xie Yonghong and his entourage traveled from Shenzhen to Zhuhai to visit Dong Fan, an alumnus of the class of 1988 and chairman and president of Jianfan Biotech, a listed company.

After graduating from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Dong Fan was assigned to Zhuhai Livzon Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. in 1992 and later served as the director of Livzon Biomaterials Factory. Due to the single product, the factory lost money for many years and was on the verge of bankruptcy, facing the situation of being divested by the parent company. As the director of the factory, Dong Fan thought twice and decided to buy this loss-making enterprise. In 2002, he led more than 60 employees to jointly fund and buy all the property rights of the factory, which was later renamed Jianfan Biotech. In the past 21 years, Dong Fan has led the team to focus on the unpopular subdivision of "hemoperfusion", and successfully transformed resin adsorption technology into hemoperfusion products, which not only made Jianfan Biotech the first resin hemoperfusion device manufacturer in China, but also realized the "curve overtaking" of Western related technologies in this technology, reducing the cost of patients and benefiting life and health.

Dong Fan introduced that the project of "Creation of High-performance Blood Purification Medical Adsorption Resin" independently developed by the company won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2009. It was also this year that the company's sales exceeded 100 million yuan, becoming a well-deserved "king of China's blood infusion". At present, resin adsorption whole blood perfusion technology has been widely used in various treatment scenarios such as kidney disease, liver disease, poisoning, critical illness, and cardiac surgery in more than 8,000 hospitals in 92 countries around the world.

Point of view. Talent training from the perspective of talent export.

Several alumni expressed the significance of the visit to their alma mater.

In Lu Yutong's view, middle school is an important stage of a person's growth, and in the era of artificial intelligence, schools should face the future and encourage students to pursue the frontiers of science and have the courage to challenge. It is necessary to pay attention to cultivating students' interdisciplinary thinking, independent learning ability, independent thinking ability and problem-solving ability. "Only after laying a solid foundation in life can we go further. ”

Only by visiting the enterprise can we know what kind of talents the enterprise needs and cultivate talents in a targeted manner. Dong Fan believes that the school should first help students establish the correct "three views", and secondly, we should pay attention to cultivating students' comprehensive ability, improve the efficiency of their growth as much as possible, and also pay attention to stimulating students' internal drive.

Xu Liangliang, the silver medalist of the 11th International Biology Olympiad for Middle School Students and a 2000 graduate of the High School Affiliated to Hunan Normal University, like Dong Fan, also started a business in the field of biomedicine. In 2015, he co-founded Fuwo Pharmaceuticals with Dr. Chenggang Zhu, a fellow undergraduate classmate from the Department of Biology at Tsinghua University.

High school is to provide talents for universities, and universities are to provide talents for society, scientific and technological innovation and industrial development, which is a systematic and complete talent training chain. Starting from the demand side, the direction and development trend of talent training will be clearer, which will be of great benefit to the current basic education reform in full swing and the integrated training of top-notch innovative talents. Xu Liangliang said.

Interview with the principal. Accurately cultivate top-notch innovative talents.

Reporter: What is the purpose of this visit?

Xie Yonghong: We have two purposes: first, to understand how the students we train develop after they go into society, and to listen to their opinions and suggestions on secondary education and the development of their alma mater;Second, we need to understand what kind of human resources are needed in our time and society. I believe that only by closely integrating school education with the needs of society can we truly provide high-quality education, and it is also the education that parents and society look forward to.

Reporter: What did you gain from the visit?

Xie Yonghong: I was very inspired by the visit for a few days. Whether a person is good or not, or how far he can go in the end, does not depend on how good his cultural achievements are in middle school, but on the all-round development, stimulating curiosity and desire for knowledge, and cultivating the ability to think independently and plan for the future.

Reporter: Will your thoughts have an impact on the next development of the school?

Xie Yonghong: Our educational philosophy is to have comprehensive quality and excellent personality, which lays the foundation for the lifelong development of students. Judging from the growth experience and achievements of these alumni, it proves that the educational concept of the High School is very correct and will never go out of style. In the new era, we should not only continue to carry forward the traditional education concept of the High School, but also continue to develop and innovate, focus on the future, and cultivate students' ability to think independently, solve problems and adapt to society.

Reporter: What are the plans of the university to promote outstanding alumni to return to Hunan to help Changsha make every effort to build a global R&D center city?

Xie Yonghong: Recently, Hunan Province held a meeting to promote the work of "alumni returning to Hunan Province", and the High School Affiliated to Hunan Normal University made a typical speech at the meeting as a representative of the middle school. At present, Changsha is making every effort to build a global R&D center city, which is in urgent need of a large number of talents, and the university will respond positively, relying on the bridge and link of the alumni association, to widely contact alumni, mobilize and encourage more alumni to return to Hunan to start a business and support the construction and development of their hometown.
