The MAXm38643 is an ultra-low IQ (330Na) step-down module that converts 18v to 5The input voltage in the 5V range is stepped down to 07v to 3Wide output voltage range of 3V (using a single resistor on the RSEL pin). The output voltage can be programmed at start-up using a single external resistor between the RSEL pin and GND. A 0 for setting the output voltage without using the RSEL pin is also available5V to 5V factory pre-programmed fixed output voltage version. In this case, the RSEL pin in the module remains floating.

The module offers powerful performance characteristics. To optimize efficiency and transient response over the entire load operating range, the module automatically switches between ultra-low power mode (ULPM), low power mode (LPM), and high power mode (HPM) based on load current to better serve the load. The device is over-regulated in the ULPM to improve efficiency and facilitate the output capacitance to handle transient load currents. The device has a 90% duty cycle limit. When the device is turned off, the active discharge resistor pulls OUT to ground.
