On December 27, the JAC Yttrium sodium-ion cylindrical battery equipped with the sodium-ion cylindrical battery cell of Zhongke Hai Na** rolled off the assembly line for the sodium battery production car. The car is the world's first production vehicle with a sodium battery, and mass deliveries are scheduled to begin in January 2024.

It is worth mentioning that on December 28, the "Funeng Technology's world's first sodium-electric model off the assembly line" was held in the new energy energy factory of Jiangling Group in Nanchang, Jiangxi, and the sodium-electric model equipped with Funeng Technology's sodium-ion battery of Jiangling Group's new energy was officially rolled off the assembly line.

Thanks to the rapid development of the new energy vehicle industry in recent years, the power battery market has exploded in an all-round way, and sodium batteries have also returned to the market vision.

Compared with lithium batteries, sodium batteries have abundant raw material reserves, wide distribution, no resource dependence, and have strategic safety value, and their advantages in scale and cost will gradually become prominent in the future.

The industry believes that sodium-ion batteries are expected to replicate the high-speed development path of lithium-ion batteriesIt will become one of the emerging industries with the highest growth potential in the next 10 years.

At present, CATL has released the first-generation sodium-ion battery in 2021 with an energy density of 160Wh kg, and the second-generation sodium-ion battery can reach an energy density of 200Wh kg.

The energy density of the sodium-ion batteries that Funeng Technology has put into production is between 140-160Wh kg, and the energy density of the second-generation sodium-ion batteries will reach 160-180Wh kg.

Recently, BYD also announced that it had signed an agreement with Huaihai Holding Group to build a sodium-ion battery production base project to build the world's largest supplier of sodium electric systems for mini vehicles.

However, it is worth noting that although industrialization is only in sight, energy density is still a shortcoming that sodium-ion batteries cannot make up for for the time being. It is expected that in the next two years, the small power represented by two-wheeled electric vehicles will account for the vast majority of sodium battery shipments.

However, with the mass production and delivery of the above two electric vehicles,Short-range A00 and A0 pure electric cars have become a breakthrough in the installation of sodium batteries, and they are expected to be applied on a large scale in the future.
