A few days ago, the people of Henan Province approved the evaluation of Comrade Xiao Kunqi as a martyr. At about 16 o'clock on August 23, 2023, Comrade Xiao Kunqi, a full-time member of the ** full-time team of the Weidong District Fire and Rescue Brigade of Pingdingshan City, was unable to rescue children who had fallen into the water, and unfortunately died heroically at the age of 25.

Xiao Kunqi, a native of Ye County, was born in March 1998, served in a unit of the Chinese People's Liberation Army for five years, and joined the Weidong District Fire and Rescue Brigade in January this year. On August 23, Xiao Kunqi died heroically to rescue children who had fallen into the water.

During his service in the army, Xiao Kunqi obeyed orders and obeyed commands, and because of his outstanding work achievements, he was evaluated as excellent for two consecutive years and was commended once by the brigade party committee. After joining the Weidong District Fire and Rescue Brigade, he worked diligently, worked hard, took the initiative to learn Xi, trained hard, and wore out 3 pairs of training shoes in only 8 months, worn out 2 sets of training clothes, and practiced 2 hook ladders, and grew into the backbone of the business in emergency rescue. In the past eight months, he has participated in more than 100 firefighting and rescue operations, and rescued more than 10 trapped people.
