However, the writing of couplets is not an easy task, and there is a lot of knowledge in choosing the right brush.
The words of the Spring Festival couplets are not a simple enlarged version of the big brush characters, nor is it a miniature version of the list book. Font size and font are not the most noteworthy elements of the writing and pen selection of Spring Festival couplet calligraphy.

Most of the Spring Festival couplet writers are folk calligraphy enthusiasts, and they can basically be classified into the category of middle, low or beginner in terms of calligraphy skills. Those who have not studied for a long time or have not received the correct penmanship instructor often have limited ability to control the pen, and are obsessed with "one side of the front", and the pen is often out of control if it is too soft.
The book pen is larger than the general pro-post pen, and the rebound ability of the pen is weaker after the pen is pressed, which requires the skill of adjusting the front while writing, which is not the ability that low-level book friends can have. Therefore, when writing Spring Festival couplets, it is best not to choose pure sheep's hair, so as not to make unkempt hair after a thick pen, like a disaster.
But the bigger disaster is that the pen is unreliable, and the profiteers are shoddy, and a large amount of plastic wire is poured into the middle. (In fact, plastic silk is much cheaper than ordinary sheep's hair, and it can be dyed and sold as wolf hair.) So it has become a common trick of this and that famous brand).
This plastic filament is completely different from the natural hair of animals.
First, the plastic wire is generally thick before and after, so the tip of the pen is twisted around and does not obey the control, and it cannot be adjusted normally at all, it looks "very good", and the pen is messy, and the plastic wire is divided into gangs to fight inside, and the low-grade wool used to deceive people on the periphery is stirred and ...... inside
Second, plastic filaments are different from the scaly-like peripheral structure of animal hair, and they will quickly become "lying down" or even bend after use, and will not return to ......
Thirdly, the plastic filament has no ink storage capacity, and the ink is flowing loudly, and the ink color is close to exhaustion without two strokes. Writing calligraphy can also be called the "ink method", the Spring Festival couplets are written to the public, and the ink color changes too much, and there is a suspicion of "ugly book".
2. The waist of the pen should be stiff to make up for the lack of wrist strength of those who are not deep in calligraphy.
The internal structure of the ordinary pen nib is two sections, and the waist support will not be deliberately strengthened, so it is often easy for ordinary block pens to write spring couplets with weak lines, such as spring worms and autumn snakes.

3. The sharp edge should be sharp.

How to add color?Add details, strengthen the contrast between thickness and strength of the lines, and combine it with a moderate amount of flying white, it is easy to get the public's praise :)
However, the quality of ordinary pens is often limited, and the elasticity of the pen, the amount of ink storage and the detailed performance of the tip cannot be taken into account.
