Towards the end of the year, all car companies are working hard for the final sales sprint, but Toyota unexpectedly came to a big recall.

Japan's Toyota Motor Corporation announced on December 20 local time that it will recall about 1 million vehicles that have been sold in Canada and the United States due to potential quality problems with airbags.

According to the official announcement, the recall involves a series of Toyota and Lexus vehicles with models from 2020 to 2022.

The specific fault is that the sensors in the front passenger seat of the vehicle may be short-circuited due to a manufacturing problem, causing the airbag system to not determine the correct weight of the occupant, and there is a risk that it will not be able to open in a collision.

The importance of airbags is well known, and as the last line of insurance for the safety of people in car accidents, the risk of airbags is unacceptable to all consumers.

At the time of the announcement of the recall by Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan, there was a question about whether any people were injured due to the problem, but Toyota did not give a clear answer to this.

What does be known at this point is that Toyota will notify the owner by mid-February 2024 that the dealer will inspect and, if necessary, replace the sensor.

But how can the safety of the car owner be guaranteed before being notified?I hope Toyota can have a more thoughtful arrangement!
