On December 22, the 2023 Tsinghua University "Carbon Neutral Economy" Forum was held at Tsinghua University, inviting elites from all walks of life in government, industry, academia and research to develop high-quality development in the context of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. In the face of the risk that global climate change is about to get out of control, "carbon neutrality" has moved from global consensus to global action. At COP28 in Dubai this year, 119 countries pledged to triple the global renewable energy capacity to 11,000 GW by 2030, about three times as much as it is today. But a sustainable energy system needs to address the "trilemma" of energy security, energy equity, and environmental sustainability. The United Nations' Guiding Principles for Hydrogen Deployment in Alignment with Climate Goals state that hydrogen production from renewable energy is the only hydrogen production pathway that achieves 15. Li Zhenguo also pointed out that photovoltaic is the "amplifier" of green energy, green hydrogen is an inevitable choice for deep decarbonization, and the "green power + green hydrogen" system solution can well solve the "trilemma".
Based on this, LONGi Hydrogen Energy is also actively cooperating with large central state-owned enterprises such as Sinopec, State Power Investment Corporation, Three Gorges, and China General Nuclear Power Corporation to carry out renewable energy hydrogen production projects. Taking Sinopec's Kuqa 10,000-ton green hydrogen demonstration project as an example, the project is a demonstration project of LONGi adhering to the "Four 1s" standard to serve the country's major strategic deployment, that is, the first to complete the IGBT demonstration test, the first to complete the "four-to-one" large-scale hydrogen production system demonstration test, the first to complete the 85-day equipment supply, and the first to complete the guided installation and successful and stable hydrogen production. Regarding large-scale renewable energy hydrogen production projects, Li Zhenguo said, "First of all, we must ensure safe, reliable and smooth operation. Secondly, from the perspective of project operation efficiency and economy, the number of equipment operating units can be reduced through the start-stop control strategy to maintain the average load at the optimal efficiency ratio. For example, if the 1,000 electrolyzer hydrogen production project requires 30% of the load, we can flexibly choose to shut down 700 units of equipment, and the remaining 300 units can work at full load to ensure the efficient operation of the project. ”
