Among them, Zhuhai Doumen's Baijiao Sea Bass National Geographical Indication Product Protection Demonstration Zone is among them, and it is also the only national geographical indication product in the city that has been selected into the list of national demonstration zones.
It is understood that the National Geographical Indication Product Protection Demonstration Zone is a protection area that has a large industrial scale, significant social and economic benefits, a high level of protection, a sound system, a perfect mechanism, a standardized management, distinctive product characteristics and high visibility, and plays a role in demonstrating, leading and promoting the protection of domestic geographical indications. The preparatory period for the establishment of the 2023 National Geographical Indication Product Protection Demonstration Zone is 3 years (December 2023 to December 2026), during which the State Intellectual Property Office will organize and carry out mid-term evaluation, preparation and acceptance, dynamic adjustment and exchange and mutual learning of the demonstration zone. The construction model and reform measures with demonstration effect will also be replicated and promoted nationwide.
The relevant person in charge of the Doumen District Market Supervision and Administration Bureau said that Doumen will introduce a work plan for the construction of a demonstration zone, in strict accordance with the principles of high-standard construction, high-level protection and high-quality development, focusing on promoting the implementation of consolidating the protection system, improving the work system, system reform and innovation, increasing protection, strengthening protection publicity and strengthening win-win cooperation, and promote the organic integration of geographical indications and the development of characteristic industries, ecological civilization construction, historical and cultural inheritance and rural revitalization. Promote the improvement of the comprehensive benefits of the whole industrial chain of Baijiao sea bass national geographical indication products, and strive to build Baijiao sea bass into one of the most distinctive, large-scale and competitive industrial brands of modern fishery in Guangdong and even the whole country, and support the high-quality development of the industry.
It is understood that as early as 2009, "white banana sea bass" became the first national geographical indication protected product in the aquaculture industry of Guangdong Province. "White Banana Sea Bass" and its protected areas have also won the most influential regional public brand, China's top 100 agricultural products regional public brand, China's top 100 agricultural products, China's characteristic agricultural products advantage area, the first batch of national famous and excellent new agricultural products, the first batch of prefabricated vegetables in Guangdong Province The whole industry chain standardization pilot and other honors, Doumen has also been awarded the "hometown of China's sea bass", "China's sea bass capital", "China's sea bass prefabricated food capital" and other titles.
In recent years, with the improvement of aquaculture technology and the improvement of the industrial chain, the quality of "white banana sea bass" in Doumen District has become better and better, its reputation has become greater and greater, and its market share has also continued to increase, becoming one of the pillar industries of Zhuhai's agriculture and a beautiful "vegetable basket" business card in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
