Recently, the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) was held in Dubai. During the conference, a special session on "Global Renewable Energy Outlook and Zero-Carbon China" organized by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People's Republic of China was held at the same time. Li Gao, member of the National People's Congress Environmental Protection and Resources Management Committee, vice chairman of the COP28 presidium, and director of the Climate Investment and Financing Committee of the Chinese Society of Environment, said in his speech that the development of renewable energy is a fundamental strategy to combat climate change. At COP28, the China Corner set up a "Renewable Energy Day" for the first time, reflecting the great importance that China attaches to renewable energy. Since the promulgation and implementation of the Renewable Energy Law in January 2006, China's renewable energy has achieved leapfrog development in just over a decade, made historic achievements, and made important contributions to the response to global climate change. Further improving the relevant legal system and policies for the development of renewable energy is of great significance to promote China's renewable energy to achieve a new leap.
Mr. Neil Bush, Chairman of the China-China Relations Committee, pointed out that China and the United States, as the world's two largest economies, play an important role in solving the climate change crisis. The United States and China need to address the environmental crisis in a more systematic and systematic way on climate change.
