In response to the current fierce competition in the energy storage market, Haichen Energy Storage, a star start-up company, is trying to open up new scenario applications through differentiated products and services.

On December 12, Hichain Energy Storage held the first Ecological Day in Chongqing, and released three new energy storage products and services, including the long-term energy storage battery MIC 1130ah, the "Hai Na Baichuan" full-stack industrial and commercial energy storage service, and the inclusive energy storage product - Hero EE.

Among them, MIC 1130AH is a thousand-ampere-hour ultra-large capacity battery specially built for the 4-8 hour long-term energy storage market by Hichain Energy Storage. Yi Ziqi, chief technology officer of Haichen Energy Storage, said that the research and development cycle of this battery is nearly two years, and it is a strategic product that can maintain market competitiveness in technology.

According to Haichen Energy Storage, MIC 1130AH is its world's first long-term energy storage battery. Compared with the 280Ah system products, the cost per Wh of the battery is reduced by 15%, and the volume energy density is increased by 15% to 400Wh L, which can help the energy storage DC side energy storage system reduce the cost by 25%. According to the plan, this product will start to send samples to customers in the first quarter of 2024, and global deliveries will start in December 2024.

The inclusive energy storage product HERO EE is aimed at the micro energy storage market. The HERO EE has a capacity of 1 kWh (1 kWh), which is comparable to portable energy storage, and can be stacked to increase the capacity in multiple ways. This product uses a 280ah battery cell, and the price is only about half of the same type of products, mainly to provide affordable energy inclusive products for energy-poor areas such as Africa and South Asia.

Launching three products and services: large-scale energy storage, industrial and commercial energy storage and residential energy storage, Hichain Energy Storage aims to open up new scenarios and find new increments through differentiated products and services. Previously, Wang Pengcheng, co-founder and general manager of Hichain Energy Storage, publicly stated that the growth rate of Hichain Energy Storage in 2023 will exceed 500%, and the annual shipment is expected to exceed 25GWh. According to the statistics of Infolink, in the first three quarters of this year, the shipment volume of Hichain energy storage cells ranked 5th in the world, with a shipment scale of more than 8 GWh.

In this regard, Wang Pengcheng said in an interview with 36 carbon that due to multiple factors on the supply side and the demand side, the cycle of the energy storage track entering the "volume" is a little earlier than everyone expected. However, he has always maintained an unchanged view and expectation, that is, from the 2022 data to 2030, the energy storage industry still has at least 20 times room for growth.

Except for AI technology (and energy storage track), no track now dares to say that there is 20 times more room for growth. Wang Pengcheng said that the optimism of Haichen Energy Storage lies in its confidence in the development space of the industry and its own competitiveness.

On December 7, shortly before the press conference, Haichen Energy Storage held the commissioning ceremony of the first phase of the Chongqing base project in Tongliang District, Chongqing. The base plans to invest a total of 13 billion yuan and plans to build a new production capacity of 56GWh energy storage lithium battery and 22GWh energy storage module. The MIC 1130Ah ultra-high-capacity battery released at the press conference will also be produced at the Chongqing base.

Previously, Haichen Energy Storage had about 45GWh of energy storage battery production capacity at the Xiamen base, and its total energy storage battery production capacity is expected to exceed 100GWh in 2024 after the new production capacity of the Chongqing base is put into operation.

Wang Pengcheng told 36 Carbon that the production capacity of Haichen Energy Storage itself is in a normal expansion cycle, and since the 45GWh production capacity of the Xiamen base has been put into operation one after another, the capacity utilization rate has been in the process of dynamic change, but the overall utilization rate is high.

Except for the third quarter due to the phased adjustment of the industry, the production capacity of Haichen is close to full at other times, and the overall capacity utilization rate this year is much higher than the industry average. He said.

36 Carbon noted that in addition to Haichen Energy Storage, EVE, another leading energy storage battery manufacturer, also recently announced that it will invest in the construction of a new production capacity of 60GWh power energy storage batteries. Ruipu Lanjun will also invest in the capacity construction of multiple production bases after listing and raising funds - although the overall tone of the energy storage battery industry is overcapacity, the leading players are still actively expanding production.

In this regard, Wang Pengcheng told 36 Carbon that following the cycle of industry "volume", the energy storage industry will form a strong elimination effect next year. By 2025, the market pattern of the global energy storage battery industry will be relatively clear. "At that time, the leading enterprises will enter the curve of revenue and profit growth, and it will continue for a long cycle. ”

This means that the next two years may be a key stage of the "card war" in the energy storage battery industry, and several leading companies with similar market shares, such as BYD, EVE Lithium Energy, Ruipu Lanjun and Haichen Energy Storage, will also usher in key competition points.
