The Monterrey Investment Agency recently held the first "China Business Negotiation 2023" event, marking a historic milestone. Held on November 1, 2023, this extraordinary gathering aims to strengthen the ties between the Chinese business community and the local private sector, and has proven to be an excellent platform to strengthen the relationship between Monterrey and China.
The event attracted more than 100 high-profile personalities, including prominent personalities from the public and private sectors, senior decision-makers from Chinese companies operating in the region or considering new investment projects in Monterrey, and valued members of Invest in Monterrey. The event was held at the Deloitte Business Center in Monterrey, Mexico.
It is worth noting that the event featured a number of well-known speakers, such as Mr. Iván Rivas, Minister of Economy of Nuevo León**;Mr. Edmundo Montes, Director of the Department of International Economic Promotion of the Confederation;and key executives from successful Chinese companies in Monterrey, including CF Moto, Yanfeng, and Hofusan Industrial Park. The Minister of Economy of Nuevo León, Mr. Iván Rivas, highlighted the rapid growth of investments in the state and the positive experience shared with established Chinese companies. He stressed the important role of TNCs in facilitating investment decisions and reiterated their strong support for those efforts.
Mr. He Mingjun, Vice President of Yanfeng Automobile, told the audience about the success story of this multinational automotive company and its thriving business in Mexico. He proudly explained why they chose Monterrey as the destination for their new facility, emphasizing the importance of the cultural-working relationship between China and Mexico.
During the event, Zhang Yu, CEO of CF Moto, revealed the details of the recent investment in Nuevo León, mainly to meet market demand. He expressed his enthusiasm for their two new factories in the Vynmsa Apodacaa industrial park, one dedicated to welding production and the other for **, with an impressive annual production capacity of thousands of all-terrain vehicles.
In addition, Mr. Jiang Qiao, Vice President of Fangfengshan Industrial Park, shared valuable insights for Chinese companies considering investing in Nuevo León. In particular, he highlighted the ease with which senior managers can adapt to the local way of life and the highly international mindset of the local community.
After the speaker program, a networking event was organized for participants to network, share knowledge, and explore opportunities to improve the local business community.
