I miss my brother Comrade Yu Fengxing. Looking back on my work with Comrade Guobo in the 10th Division of the Railway Corps, we had three close contacts. The first time was in 1965, when a collapse accident occurred in the No. 1 tunnel of Daqiaowan in our regiment, and the division and regimental working group rushed to the scene to organize the accident handling. The second time was at the end of 1966, when Comrade Guo Bo and I joined the 10 th Division's Xi Group to Resist US Aggression and Aid Vietnam and worked together for more than five months. The third time was in 1967, when I was transferred to the 10th Division as a training section and worked with Comrade Guobo in the same section.
I graduated from Baotou Railway College in July 1961 and was assigned to the 1st Battalion of the 47th Regiment of the 10th Division of the Railway Corps for Xi, and then worked as a technician in the Technical Department of the 1st Battalion, and was transferred to the 47th Regiment in 1963 as a training unit. The acquaintance with Comrade Guobo began in 1965, when our regiment was working on the northern section of the Chengdu-Kunming line, and the regiment headquarters was stationed in Fuxi Town, Emei County, Sichuan. The collapse accident that occurred in the No. 1 tunnel of Daqiaowan attracted widespread attention, and Liu Yonghong, head of the regiment, and Hu Zailuo, chief engineer of the regiment, immediately organized a working group to go to the scene of the accident in person, and I became a member of the working group. In the process of handling the accident, I became acquainted with Comrade Guobo, who was a staff officer of the 10th Division's Training Section at that time, and we met because of our work.
At the end of October 1966, in order to support Vietnam, the 10th Railway Division sent the 2nd Railway Division to build the standard gauge railway from Hanoi to Nguyen. Vietnam asked China for assistance in renovating the meter-gauge railway, and Comrade Guo Bo and I became members of the Xi Group for Aiding Vietnam to Resist the United States. At the end of April 1967, we completed the Xi mission of aiding Vietnam to resist the United States in the Second Division of the Railway Corps and returned to China. We gathered together and came to the "Friendship Pass" to take a group photo. This Xi deepened the friendship between me and Comrade Guobo and gave us a deeper understanding of each other.
In the 60s of the 20th century, Comrade Guobo and I worked together three times, and we faced all kinds of challenges in our work together and established a deep relationship. Comrade Guobo is an old comrade who experienced the Liberation War, and he is my elder brother and big brother. I was deeply impressed by his sincere attitude toward comrades and his conscientious, conscientious and responsible attitude towards his work. Every time we return to Beijing, we visit each other's relatives and maintain a close bond together.
Comrade Guo Bo passed away of illness in Beijing on July 1, 2014, depriving our party of a loyal proletarian fighter and a brother and comrade-in-arms who had fought together for many years. Before he passed away, he gave his calligraphy works to his comrades-in-arms in Beijing, leaving a deep friendship. The death of Comrade Guobo makes us deeply nostalgic and deeply mourns him.
