On June 25, 1950, the outbreak of the Korean War attracted the attention of the world. The next day, the U.S. military also publicly announced that it would support the Syngman Rhee clique, gathered troops from 16 countries, and began to enter the Korean Peninsula, thus starting this war of aggression with great momentum.

In October of the same year, the Chinese side also sent millions of people's volunteers across the Yalu River to join the just war. Since the Korean War had the Chinese side joined, all forces have been constantly weighing the pros and cons, and the United League has begun to realize that this seems to be an invincible black hole.

As the momentum of the Volunteer Army grew, the American army began to gradually rout, and everyone moved the willingness to armistice. Even if the Syngman Rhee clique wanted to continue fighting, the armistice became an established fact, and in July 1953, the DPRK signed the Armistice Agreement.

The emergence of this agreement represents the end of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea in 1953, so why did the volunteers not all evacuate? Because this is only a truce, it does not mean that the war is completely over. The Korean War was only in a state of truce, which did not mean that an armistice was completely negotiated, and there were great variables on both sides.

Therefore, for China, it must be prepared for both, otherwise the painful price paid before will be in vain. In order to prevent the sudden repudiation of the Combined Army, and also to prevent the Syngman Rhee clique from secretly going out, only a small part of the volunteers sent out were pulled into the country, and as of 1956, there were still 440,000 volunteers in North Korea.

The existence of this part of the volunteer army in North Korea is not only to deter all forces, but also to help North Korea rebuild after the disaster. At that time, North Korea was a mess, full of remnants.

North Korea's infrastructure has been damaged, including agriculture, which is the most basic part of people's livelihood. The volunteers were even more busy rebuilding various water conservancy projects for North Korea, so meticulous that they even helped to cultivate farmland and plant crops.

In addition to agriculture, the volunteers have invested nearly 10 divisions to rebuild nearly 10,000 houses, bridges, highways and tunnels for North Korea. Even the armed equipment that the DPRK lacks, the Chinese side buys at its own expense and gives it unconditionally.

The Soviet Union is also giving all kinds of assistance to the DPRK at the same time, the DPRK's economy is slowly recovering, and the DPRK also has the strength to resist the coalition army. The US side also put forward a proposal to withdraw its troops, and the Chinese side naturally agreed that at this time, we are at a stage when everything in the country is waiting to be revitalized, and the return of the volunteers is also conducive to national construction.

The volunteers began to retreat in batches, and the reason why they had to be divided into batches was because the American troops did not retreat in time, which was also to leave a way out. By the end of 1958, all volunteers had withdrawn from Korea. But there were still 100 fighters, who remained in the Armistice Commission as a reserve. The number of 100 personnel has also been gradually reduced to 7 as the situation continues to stabilize.

In this group of volunteers, the person who must be mentioned is He Quruo. There is always little turmoil on the Korean Peninsula, and China needs to send a representative to mediate, and He Quruo is this representative. He participated in the revolution for many years, and twice went to the front line to resist US aggression and aid Korea, and his body was full of wounds left by the war.

In 1971, He Quruo went to North Korea again to negotiate, and several long negotiations pulled his already bad health even more seriously. At a meeting in 1972, he had a heart attack. Only then did people know that his condition was very serious, and even if he returned to China and tried his best to save him, the martyr died of illness in 1973.

At a meeting in 1991, the South Korean side, which had not signed the armistice agreement, suddenly appeared, causing dissatisfaction between China and North Korea, and the meeting was forced to be suspended. It was also because of this farce that the Armistice Commission did not meet again. In 1992, the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea also gave North Korea an opinion.

At this point, the Armistice Commission was completely in a state of existence in name only, and on this basis, there was no point in the volunteers continuing to stay in Korea, and by December 1994, the last batch of volunteers who had come to aid Korea had also returned to China.

The War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea was a just act to resist aggression and a declaration for China to stand up, which has far-reaching significance and impact on both China and the world.
