The Jinan-Zhengzhou high-speed railway, which connects Jinan and Zhengzhou, two trillion cities, will soon be put into operation. This high-speed rail line, which is "straightened and straightened", can be called the "finishing touch" for improving the "m" shaped network of the two transportation hub cities.
The Jizheng high-speed railway is an important connection line of the national "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed rail network, and it is also a landmark and leading project for the construction of Shandong Demonstration Zone, a transportation powerhouse. The line starts from Jinan West Railway Station in the east, and arrives at Zhengzhou East Railway Station after passing through Dezhou, Liaocheng, Puyang, Anyang, Hebi, Xinxiang and other cities. There are 13 high-speed railway stations on the whole line, including Jinan West, Changqing, Chiping South, Liaocheng West, Xin County, Nanle, Puyang East, Neihuang, Huadun, Weihui South, Xinxiang East, Xinxiang South, Zhengzhou East, etc., and connect Jinan Station and Daming Lake Station through the contact line.
It is understood that as early as 2010, the concept of Jizheng high-speed railway has been proposed. A few years later, the Jizheng high-speed railway was used to connect Beijing, Shanghai and Beijing.

In August 2016, the "Feasibility Study Report on the Zhengzhou-Puyang Section of the New Zhengzhou-Jinan Railway" was approved. In October of the same year, the Puyang-Zhengzhou section of the Jinan-Zhengzhou high-speed railway started. On June 20, 2022, the Puyang-Zhengzhou section of the Jinan-Zhengzhou high-speed railway was put into operation.
This year, the Shandong section of the Jinan-Zhengzhou high-speed railway and the boundary section from Puyang to Luyu Province have been completed one after another, and the prescribed actions such as joint commissioning and trial operation have been completed, and the Jizheng high-speed railway is about to usher in an important moment for the opening and operation of the whole line.
As important transportation hub cities in the country, Jinan and Zhengzhou have already proposed to build a "m"-shaped high-speed rail network. In the planned "m"-shaped high-speed rail hub layout of the two places, the Jizheng high-speed railway is an extremely important stroke.
Let's look at Zhengzhou first. As the core of the national central city and the Central Plains urban agglomeration, Zhengzhou has the natural advantage of building a "m" shaped high-speed rail network, before the opening of the Puyang to Zhengzhou section of the Jinan-Zhengzhou high-speed railway, Zhengzhou to the north to Beijing, northwest to Taiyuan, west to Xi'an, southwest to Chongqing, south to Guangzhou, southeast to the Yangtze River Delta, east to Xuzhou and other 7 directions of high-speed rail have been opened, only the northeast to Jinan a "skimming". After the Puyang-Zhengzhou section of the Jinan-Zhengzhou high-speed railway was put into operation, Zhengzhou became the first transportation hub city in the country to basically complete the "m"-shaped high-speed rail network.
Let's look at Jinan again. According to the "Jinan Railway Hub Master Plan (20162030 years)", the layout of Jinan's "m" shaped high-speed railway is: Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway in the north-south direction, Jinan-Qingdao high-speed railway in the east, Jizheng high-speed railway in the west, Shiji passenger train in the northwest direction, Jibin high-speed railway in the northeast direction, Jilai high-speed railway in the southeast direction, and Jiji (Jinan to Jining) high-speed railway in the southwest direction. Among them, the high-speed railways in the four directions of Beijing-Shanghai, Jiqing, and Shiji have already been opened, and the Jilai high-speed railway in the southeast direction will also be opened to traffic on December 30, 2022, leaving three high-speed rail lines in Jizheng, Jibin, and Jiji waiting to be drawn.
As a passage for Shandong to open up the westward and deep into the hinterland of the Central Plains, the key section of Jinan's "m" shaped high-speed rail network is a key section from the middle to the west, and the Jinan-Zhengzhou high-speed railway was once regarded as "the most important high-speed railway under construction and planning". With the Jinan-Zhengzhou high-speed railway about to open for operation, Jinan is one step closer to building a "m"-shaped high-speed rail hub.
Not only that, with the completion of the Jinan-Zhengzhou high-speed railway, there is one more district and county of Jinan-Tong high-speed railway. There are 12 high-speed rail passenger stations in the city, namely Jinan West Station in Huaiyin District, Jinan Station and Daming Lake Station in Tianqiao District, Jinan East Station and Licheng Station in Licheng District, Zhangqiu Station, Zhangqiu North Station and Zhangqiu South Station in Zhangqiu District, Xueye Station and Laiwu North Station in Laiwu District, Gangcheng Station in Gangcheng District, and Changqing Station in Changqing District, which will soon be opened.
In the future, with the completion and opening of the Jibin high-speed railway, Jizao high-speed railway and Jiji high-speed railway, Jiyang District, Shanghe County, Pingyin County and the southern mountainous areas that are not currently connected to the high-speed rail will also have high-speed rail passenger stations, and the city's high-speed rail passenger stations will further increase.
