The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) said on Friday that about 1.5 million Indian tourists have visited Thailand so far this year, beating expectations, following the opening of visa-free access to Indian tourists.

The introduction of a visa-free policy for Indian travellers from November 10 this year until May 10, 2024 has increased the daily arrivals of Indian tourists from 4,000 to 5,000-5,500.

The number of Indian tourists entering Thailand has now reached 1.5 million, exceeding the previous target of 1.4 million for this year set by the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand has carried out some promotional activities in India to increase the number of tourists from India.
