Elon Musk, the founder of "X" (formerly Twitter), was once one of the few public figures who spoke out against Israel. He also posted an anti-Semitic post on "X" on November 15, expressing his views on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
However, just recently, Musk's position has changed dramatically. He went from being against Israel to being pro-Israel.
The opportunity for this shift was Musk's visit to Israel on November 27. During this visit, Musk not only witnessed the attacks and destruction suffered by Israel, but also listened to the explanations and views of the Israeli leadership.
Musk, protected by body armor and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, visited the Kafaaza area, which was hit hard by the October 7 Hamas attacks.
In addition to this, Israel also showed Musk a video of the Hamas attack, allowing him to see the cruelty and ruthlessness of Hamas.
Musk said he felt psychologically uncomfortable after seeing the images.
After the tour, Musk and Netanyahu also conducted an audio live broadcast on "X". During the live broadcast, Netanyahu explained to Musk the rationale for Israel's attack on Gaza.
Netanyahu said that Hamas is a "death cult" hidden behind the civilian population of Gaza, and that it does not hesitate to sacrifice the lives of Gazans to fight Israel. Only by eliminating Hamas can peace be restored to Gaza and Gazans live a better life.
Musk said he understood and agreed with Netanyahu that "Israel has no choice but to destroy Hamas" and said he was willing to help with Gaza's reconstruction.
During the visit, Musk also met with Israeli Herzog.
Herzog told Musk that there is hatred of Jews on "X" and that Musk should take steps to combat antisemitic speech and behavior.
Musk responded that he would do whatever was necessary to stop the spread of hate.
According to reports, after Musk left Israel, Israel released a statement saying that Musk shares Israel's view that it is necessary to eradicate the killing of civilians, to keep a new generation from becoming killers, and to work hard to make Gaza prosperous.
Obviously, after this visit, Musk has gone over to the side of Israel.
So, why did Musk change his position?
Some believe that Musk's change of attitude is an attempt to recoup the losses he suffered during his anti-Semitic period.
Because of Musk's anti-Semitic remarks, Apple, Disney and many other advertisers have suspended advertising on "X", and Amazon, Coca-Cola, Microsoft and other companies are also considering whether to continue to cooperate with "X".
According to the data, if these companies stop advertising on "X", by the end of the year, Musk will lose $75 million in advertising revenue, equivalent to about 5 yuan3.6 billion yuan.
After Musk supported Israel, on November 28, Hamas's ** Hamdan sent an invitation to Musk at a press conference, hoping that he could personally go to Gaza to see Israel's ** and destruction of Gazans.
However, Musk rejected Hamas's invitation on the "X".
Musk said that Gaza is too dangerous now, and he believes that building a long-term prosperous Gaza is in everyone's interest.
In this battle for Musk, Israel won.
