Belarus will train forestry experts for Mongolia

Minister of Education and Science of Mongolia LEnkh-Amgalan met with the Ambassador of Belarus to Mongolia, Mr. Dmitry Nikolaevich. At the beginning of the meeting, Belarus highlighted Mongolia's projects in the fields of education, science and agriculture and expressed its gratitude for their successful implementation.

According to the memorandum signed in 2002 between the Mongolian Society for Science and Technology and the Belarusian Society for Basic Research, 2-3 projects are selected and funded each year. The parties talked about expanding this cooperation and funding 3-4 projects per year.

Mongolia will cooperate with the Ministry of Forestry of Belarus to invite forestry experts to work in Mongolia under the framework of the "Billion Trees" initiative, share experience, carry out joint research on trees and shrubs suitable for Mongolian soil and nature, and send Mongolian experts to Belarus for short- and medium-term training, and agree to cooperate together.

The parties also agreed to work together to expand cooperation between universities, in particular between the Mongolian State Life Science and Technology University and the Belarusian National Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

Belarus expressed its support for the provision of scholarships in Belarus and increased the number of scholarships for Mongolian citizens in accordance with the Belarusian Decree on Scholarships in 2018.

In addition, Belarus expressed its support for expanding cooperation in the field of professional education and training of personnel. From January 22 to 24 this year, the parties exchanged views on how to participate in the seventh meeting of the Joint Committee on Economic and Scientific Cooperation between Mongolia and the Republic of Belarus.
