Hainan International Commercial Space Launch Center, located in Wenchang City, Hainan Province, is the first commercial space launch site in China to start construction. The first launch project started in July 2022 and entered the main installation stage in January 2023. The tower is 83 meters high and contains 11 types of equipment and facilities such as fixed service towers and launch pads. Compared with the traditional launch station, it cancels the diversion groove and adopts the modular steel structure launch tower scheme, which shortens the construction period by half.
According to Yang Tianliang, chairman of Hainan International Commercial Space Launch, the No. 1 station of the launch center was constructed in accordance with the quality standards of major aerospace projects, and a number of advanced technologies such as ground diversion cone drainage and extrusion water spray cooling and noise reduction were adopted for the first time. The project is a dedicated station for the Long March 8, a new generation of medium-sized rockets in China, and is also another milestone in the construction of the Hainan International Commercial Space Launch Center after the 110kV substation.

Up to now, the construction of the project around the first launch task of the No. 1 launch station has been basically completed, and the equipment is about to be fully installed. The smart launch site system of the launch center has completed the system development and equipment entry, and is being combined with civil construction and installation work. At the same time, the No. 2 launch station of the launch center has also completed the capping of the main body of the diversion trough, and it is planned to complete the on-site installation and commissioning of the equipment by the end of May 2024.
