Lin Wei, a native of Taishan, Guangdong, was born in 1905 and died in 1998.

In 1925, he was admitted to the fourth phase of the Whampoa Military Academy as a teacher. After graduation, he participated in the Northern Expedition with the army and served as a grassroots officer. Later, he served as a staff officer and battalion commander in the Guangdong Army. In 1931, he went to France to learn flying technology, and was one of the few generals who could control an airplane. In 1936, he was appointed commander of the 159th Division.

At the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, he served as the commander of the 475th Brigade of the 159th Division of the 66th Army, and led his troops to participate in the Battle of Songhu and the Battle of Nanjing. In June 1938, he led his troops to participate in the defense of Wuhan. In 1939, he was promoted to the commander of the 151st Division of the 62nd Army and participated in the Battle of Northern Guangdong. In July 1940, he was awarded the rank of Major General. In May 1944, he led his troops to participate in the Battle of Changheng, and in August participated in the Battle of Guiliu.

After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, he went to Vietnam and Taiwan with the 62nd Army to accept the surrender of the Japanese army. In 1986, after screening, he was treated as a defector and his status as a war criminal was revoked. He was a member of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People' He later lived in Toronto, Canada, where he died in 1998.

In his life, there are many unsatisfactory places, and I will talk about three things.

That. First, the defense becomes the main attack. Jinzhou was besieged, Chiang Kai-shek ordered Fu Zuoyi to send troops to help, Fu then ordered to garrison Qinhuangdao, which was originally subordinate to Jinzhou's "suppression" Fan Hanjie's department, and Liu Yunhan's 68th Army sent troops to aid Jinhuangdao, and took over the defense of Qinhuangdao with the 62nd Army. However, Liu is Chen Cheng's descendant, so he sued Chen Cheng and passed the buck. Fu was helpless, so he ordered the 62nd Army to take a boat to Huludao to aid the Jin operation. In the first battle of Tower Hill, almost all the army was wiped out. Later, retreated to Tianjin.

That. Second, the loss of the trick is invalid. Liu Yalou's attack on Tianjin was imminent, whether it was war or peace, Chen Changjie and other generals hesitated, and he and Liu Yunhan privately discussed fleeing, but were persuaded by Chen Changjie to stop, and he really had no opinion. In addition, it is really pedantic to pour water on the city wall to Chen Changjie and freeze it to defend against the enemy.

That. 3. The soldiers of the People's Liberation Army approached the city and raised the white flag and surrendered to it, but they were not treated as defectors at that time. After entering the Gongdelin, he was still obsessed with this matter, and he had a personal grudge against Mr. Fu with Chen Changjie and others for a long time. After the amnesty, I applied for it for many years, and finally got my wish. Historical Figures Stories
