Recently, Disney announced the list of new Marvel and Star Wars episodes that will be released in 2024. For viewers looking forward to the second season of Andor, they may be disappointed.
In a press release detailing the series that will air on Disney+ next year, the entertainment giant revealed that two Star Wars projects and three Marvel projects will premiere on the streaming giant. It's a pity that in the case of the Star Wars project, the second season of Andor is not among the three titles that will be released in the following year.
Disney has revealed that Star Wars: The Acolyte, the first reality show to be filmed during the High Republic Era of Star Wars, and Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, a series inspired by the beloved '80s movie Goonies, are the only ones that will land in 2024 Episodes developed by Lucasfilm. As a result, Star Wars fans are unlikely to see the second season of Andor do the same.
Due to its popularity and accolades, viewers have been anticipating the arrival of the second season of Andor. Since the production of the series has been delayed for some time, some fans had hoped that it would be released in 2024. However, production of the series starring Diego Luna on Disney+ has been delayed due to a 2023 writers' and actors' strike, meaning we may not see it return until 2025.
As mentioned earlier, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is also expanding further, with 3 TV series coming out next year. We already know about Marvel'S Echo will premiere on Disney+ and sister streaming platforms Hulu on January 10, 2024, so Marvel fans can start a new streaming journey after the New Year.
Now we know which episodes will join it next year. Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, also known as Agatha: Coven of Chaos, previously featuring Kathryn Hahn, will also be released. There's also X-MEN 97, a TV series in Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that is seen as a direct sequel to the beloved '90s animated film, X-Men: The Animated Series.
On the television side, in addition to the new season and the second season, there are several highly anticipated new series waiting for viewers to enjoy. These include the highly anticipated third season of The Bear and the second season of Extraordinary. In addition, "Shogun", "Renegade Nell", "The Artful Dodger" (UK and Ireland) and more will also be featured on next year's streaming platform.
