In December, three garment factories in Bosheng City, Ayeyarwady Province, Myanmar, were closed one after another, and more than 3,000 workers lost their jobs.

One worker said it seemed that there were no orders, so it was closed. Although it is said to be temporarily closed, it is difficult to reopen in this situation. I heard that some other factories will be closed after the orders are completed.

It is alleged that after the closure of the garment factory, workers were paid three months' wages and notice payments, but only one month's salary was paid to workers who had worked for less than one year.

Workers informed that the three garment factories that were closed were all invested by foreign investors, and that there were about 3,000 workers in the three factories from the city and villages and other towns under the jurisdiction of the city.

A female worker in a garment factory in Bosheng City said that she heard that our factory was about to close after completing orders, and said that she was going to move to Cambodia. Here they want to choose 50 people to bring over, everyone from the village to work in the garment factory, the livelihood is okay, now if you are unemployed, I don't know what to do.

It is reported that the garment factories in Bosheng City that have not been closed are also planning to reduce the number of workers or close the factories in March next year due to reduced orders and lack of electricity**.
