After a new round of military reform in 2017, at present, there are a total of 13 group armies in China's five major theaters, and the numbers of these 13 group armies start from the 71st Group Army to the end of the 83rd Group Army, and the numbers used have never been used in the past. Although the number is new,However, each group army actually has the inheritance of our army's heroic units, and the predecessors of the 13 group armies are still clearly visible, and the bloodlines can be traced back to the four major field armies.
If we look closely, we will see that of the 13 group armies, the troops of the four fields are the most retained.
There is only 1 group army belonging to the Yiye bloodline, which is the 72nd Group Army, formerly known as the 1st Army, which can be traced back to the original Yiye and One Column.
There are 3 group armies that belong to the bloodline of Erye, namely: 71st Group Army, the predecessor of the 12th Army, and the original Erye Sixth Column;77th Group Army: formerly known as the 13th Army, formerly the Second Field and Fourth Column;78th Group Army: Formerly known as the 16th Army, the original Second Field and One Column.
There are 3 group armies that belong to the bloodline of Sanye, namely: 73 Group Army, the predecessor of the 31st Army, and the original Sanye Thirteenth Column;76th Group Army: the predecessor of the 21st Army, the former Sanye 2nd Column;80th Group Army: the predecessor of the 26th Army, the original Sanye Eight Columns;
There are as many as 5 of the bloodlines belonging to the four fields, namely: 74 Group Army: the predecessor of the 42nd Army, the original four fields and five columns;75th Group Army: The predecessor of the 41st Army, the original four fields and four columns; The 79th Group Army, formerly known as the 39th Army, was formerly the Second Column of the Four Fields; The 82nd Group Army, formerly known as the 39th Army and the 38th Army, was formerly the First Column of the Four Fields; The 83rd Group Army, formerly known as the 54th Army, was originally the Four Fields and Seven Columns.
Why more than 70 years have passed, the most troops in Siye are still retained, I think it is mainly due to the following four reasons:
First, the number of warriors in the four fields is large
The development of Yiye was congenitally insufficient, until the Liberation War was almost over, through the transformation of prisoners, the reorganization of the local army, and the addition.
Ten. A total of 190,000 people from the two corps of the Eighth and Nineteenth Corps entered Shaanxi by separate routes, barely adding up to 340,000 people.
Before the start of the Liberation War, the total strength of the two fields was about 300,000, in addition to 400,000 militia. However, due to the difficult task of advancing to the Dabie Mountain, the number of people was reduced later, and the strength of the Nakano Army was 270,000 after being reorganized into the Second Field Army.
In February 1949, Mino had a total of 580,000 men in four corps, which increased to 820,000 in December.
When Siye entered the customs, the number of people had reached one million, and after the southward battle to eliminate Bai Chongxi's troops, the total number of Siye troops exceeded 1.5 million, even more than the sum of the number of the other three field armies.
A large number of people means a large number of seeds, and there will always be seeds that can sprout and take root, so the four fields with the largest number of people have a greater chance of retaining the natural troops than other field armies.
Second, Marshal Siye has many generals
This is actually related to the large number of troops.
The other three field armies all have only one marshal, the four fields have two marshals, and there are three generals, which is also more than the other three field armies, in addition to 14 generals and 43 lieutenant generals, and even 298 major generals, which are incomparable to other field armies.
More generals means more merit and more resources in the army, which is also the basis for the retention of troops.
The third and fourth fields have strong tactical literacy
Mr. Lin's "six tactical principles", namely: one point and two sides, three three systems, three fierce, three situations and three ways of playing, four fast and one slow, four groups and one team, these tactics go deep into the bone marrow of the officers and soldiers of the four fields with systematic norms, so that the soldiers of the four fields are extremely equipped with tactical literacy, which is the foundation of the strong combat effectiveness of the troops.
Mr. Lin attaches great importance to the construction of the tactical level of the troops, and the 6th Vertical 16th Division and 8th Regiment of Siye once charged not in accordance with the tactical norms, and was criticized by Mr. Lin
In battle, there was no tactics, and a deputy company commander ordered "all rush me" and rushed five times in a row against a bunker. Under the enemy's crossfire, the fighters were forced to pry open the bunker shooting hole with a bayonet and drill into it, but the fighters **, the attack was also unsuccessful. Some do not know how to organize fire, put heavy machine guns behind the commandos, and fight themselves. Some of them did not prepare communication equipment, and they could not be connected during the battle, and their command was seriously affected. The communication signals that were prescribed in advance were forgotten at the beginning of the battle, resulting in a disjointed command and confusion caused by the inability to communicate with the troops. ”
In general, Siye is the field army with the best tactical use, and until the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea after the founding of the People's Republic of China, the roundabout interspersing of the Siye troops is also the best, because the tactical literacy of the Siye soldiers is good.
Fighting a war is a complex systematic project, which requires the coordination and efficient operation of excellent soldiers to form a strong combat effectiveness, and there is no doubt that the soldiers of the four fields meet this standard, which is also an important reason why the four field troops are retained the most.
Fourth, the command mechanism of the four fields is stable
Sun Tzu has a chapter in the Art of War called "Nine Changes", which talks about the rapid changes on the battlefield and how a general should command. Therefore,In addition to the strength of the two sides, victory or defeat should also depend on the ability of the command mechanisms of the two sides to adjust to different situations.
The battlefield command mechanism of the four fields is relatively flexible, and it can be collected and released.
Mr. Lin once said: "Now the battlefield is so vast, there are so many troops participating in the battle, and the situation in all aspects is ever-changing, and it is impossible to neglect any side." Therefore, it is the most urgent task to establish a strong command organ and train staff officers with good quality and professional skills. In order to meet the needs of the large corps to attack the fortified positions, it was necessary to regularize. Without a formal system, it is impossible to carry out tasks accurately. It is impossible for modern warfare to be mastered by commanders alone, and it is not possible to command modern warfare by means of handicrafts. ”
Therefore,Siye has established a relatively complete staff system in Siye, and all divisions must report their positions and current situation whenever they go to a place, so that Siye can smoothly complete military operations under direct command of the divisions. This is the foundation of the Siye Staff Headquarters' mechanism in the aspect of "receiving", which can be commanded in a unified manner and is silky and smooth.
On the side of "decentralization", the staff mechanism of the four fields will also be appropriately delegated. When Mr. Lin pursued Liao Yaoxiang, he did not continue to implement the order system of "receiving" all troops, and the staff mechanism of Siye changed rapidly, and he issued the simplest military order of Mr. Lin in this life: "Each column does not need to find a division, a division does not need to find a regiment, and a regiment does not need to find a battalion, everyone can find Liao Yaoxiang." In the end, Liao Yaoxiang was captured by our army.
In general, Siye relied on a flexible and advanced command mechanism, and gradually adapted to the needs of different times of war, and the troops were fully tempered, so that the generals of Siye had a great sense of the overall situation, such as Deng Hua, Han Xianchu, etc., Han Xianchu showed a marshal-level military vision in the battle to liberate Hainan Island, and later grew into a strategic military talent, and after the reform and opening up, he was also the pillar of our army.
In a word, Siye was able to retain the largest number of troops, and it was indeed the right time and place, and the support of the backbone of the party coupled with the unique basic conditions, if there was no hard fighting support from other field armies, Siye might not be able to develop a million-strong army in the northeast with peace of mind.
