The Russian-Ukrainian military conflict has been going on for several months, and both sides have suffered heavy losses. But Ukraine does not seem to have come to its senses and is still fantasizing about a negotiated solution. It's like an old Chinese saying, "If you miss this village, you won't have this shop". This means that Ukraine has lost the best opportunity to make peace with Russia, and now it can only face a more serious situation.
Why is this so?The reason is simple, that is, Ukraine is used and controlled by Western countries and does not have its own sovereignty and independence. Western countries do not want to see Russia and Ukraine reconcile, because this would affect their geopolitical interests. So they have been inciting Ukraine against Russia and obstructing negotiations between the two sides.
In fact, in April 2022, Russia and Ukraine had already agreed on the implementation of the Minsk Agreements and were ready to sign a treaty. The content of this treaty includes Ukraine's neutrality, non-membership in NATO, the return of Crimea to Russia, the independence of the Donbass republics, and the protection of the rights and interests of the people of Ukraine. These are Russia's bottom lines and Ukraine's biggest concessions. Russia does not want to annex Ukraine, but only wants to preserve its own security and interests.
But just as the two sides were about to sign the treaty, Western countries intervened. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and a number of ** in the United States have visited Kyiv to put pressure on the Ukrainian authorities to abandon the peace agreement with Russia and continue to fight against Russia. They also promised to provide more military and economic aid to Ukraine, giving Ukraine the false impression that it has a strong backing.
Ukraine's Zelensky, under the threat of Western countries, gave up negotiations with Russia and chose to continue the war. Regardless of the interests and public opinion of his country, he became a puppet of Western countries and betrayed his compatriots. He does not understand that Western countries just want to use Ukraine as a pawn to contain Russia's development, and not really help Ukraine.
The result? The war in Ukraine has not gained anything, but has put itself in a deeper predicament. Russia will not easily let go of Ukraine's provocations, but will intensify its strikes against Ukraine. Russia has already occupied part of Ukraine's territory, including Crimea and Donbass, and it is likely that it will continue to advance. Ukraine's territory and sovereignty have been seriously damaged.
And what about Western countries? They are only verbally supporting Ukraine, but there are no real actions. They do not dare to clash head-on with Russia and are not willing to take any responsibility for Ukraine. They just watched the excitement from the sidelines, waiting for Ukraine and Russia to consume each other's forces, and then pick up the bargain.
So, there is nothing for Ukraine now, it can only get worse and worse. What they need is to stop the war and make peace with Russia as soon as possible, otherwise they will lose everything. But there is no such opportunity anymore, because they have missed the best time, as the old Chinese saying goes, "after this village, there is no such shop".
