Published a review of carbon fiber reinforced polymer composites.

Background: In recent years, in the context of low carbon, energy saving and emission reductionCFRP composites have attracted much attention for their wide application and excellent performance in many fields. However, some inherent defects of CF seriously threaten the service safety of CFRP composite structural parts. The results show that the inherent defects mainly include: (1) the non-polar and chemically inert surface of CF lead to poor interfacial properties of composites;(2) CF is brittle, easy to wear, low fracture toughness, and small bending radius, resulting in easy breakage of fibers and a large number of wool filaments in the preparation process.

About the study. In response to the above problems, Dr. Chen Fengxiang of the State Key Laboratory of New Textile Materials and Advanced Processing Technology jointly built by the province and the ministry of Wuhan Textile University and Professor Ma Pibo of Jiangnan University worked togetherThe advanced interface modification strategies and low-damage weaving technology of carbon fiber in CFRP composites were systematically reviewedAnd from (1) the design of new resin molecular structure, (2) the optimization strategy of carbon fiber interface structure, (3) advanced interface in-situ characterization technology, (4) advanced manufacturing technology of CFRP composites, and (5) the reuse of CFRP composite resourcesand other 5 aspects of the future development direction of CFRP composite materialsThat is, (1) to establish a basic database for the molecular structure design of carbon fiber and resin by combining molecular simulation technology;(2) Develop emerging technologies such as nanosystem modification and in-situ growth modification to improve the interfacial structure of CFRP composites(3) Establish advanced characterization techniques to reveal the corresponding force transfer and fracture mechanism at the interface of CFRP composites(4) Develop new technologies for the reuse of CFRP composite resources, and establish a database of CF and its composite materialsIn order to provide new ideas and insights for future research, and promote the development of high-performance CFRP composites in emerging diversified industries.
