In the hospital, Zhao Yiman got acquainted with the policemen Dong Xianxun and Han Yongyi, and found that they were dissatisfied with the Japanese rulers, so he successfully wooed them. Since Zhao Yiman has been recuperating in bed, Taiji Ohno's supervision is relatively relaxed, and Han Yongyi decided to take the opportunity to rescue Zhao Yiman. By the summer of 1936, Zhao Yiman had been in the hospital for more than half a year, and Han Yongyi thought that now was the best time. At noon one day, Han Yongyi and Dong Xianxun took advantage of the unpreparedness of the Japanese army to secretly change Zhao Yiman's clothes and arrange a car to send her to the countryside.
But soon after, Taiji Ohno learned of Zhao Yiman's escape plan, and his anger burned and he immediately sent a large number of military police to search for him, and Zhao Yiman was arrested again. This time, Taiji Ohno completely lost patience and used even more cruel means to extract a confession, and Zhao Yiman was tortured extremely inhumanely, Taiji Ohno wrote in his diary: "I will never forget the screams she made. Despite this, Taiji Ohno still failed to get the information he wanted. Under the cruel torture of the Japanese army, few people could support it, but Zhao Yiman chose to die rather than give in.
As an anti-Japanese fighter, her spirit never gave in, despite the brutal ordeal her body endured. Zhao Yiman's perseverance made Taiji Ohno feel a little uneasy, but he used tactics even more ruthlessly, she had to bow her head or face death. However, in the face of such a threat, Zhao Yiman is not afraid, because how can a revolutionary martyr be afraid of death?Taiji Ohno was very frustrated by Zhao Yiman's stubborn resistance. He tried all kinds of tricks, but he couldn't defeat her. His superiors kept urging him to provide effective information, but he couldn't do anything about it.
In this case, Taiji Ohno completely lost his patience. In a letter, he told his superiors that Zhao Yiman was of no use and that the only solution was to kill her as a deterrent to the Chinese people. The Japanese army thought that this suggestion was feasible and ordered Taiji Ohno to execute Zhao Yiman as soon as possible. In August 1936, Taiji Ohno tied Zhao Yiman to a prison cart and took him back to Zhuhe County, where she led the revolution. He decided to kill Zhao Yiman in front of all the people of Zhuhe County, believing that such a cruel scene would terrify the Chinese.
However, Taiji Ohno once again misjudged the situation. Zhao Yiman was tortured to the point of dying, but he still looked straight ahead, and shouted in his mouth: "Down with Japanese imperialism!"Her spirit infected the masses around her, and many people, despite the threat of the military police, followed Zhao Yiman and shouted: "Down with Japanese imperialism!"After a few gunshots, 31-year-old Zhao Yiman collapsed in a pool of blood. However, the spirit does not disappear with death.
Years later, Taiji Ohno finally understood that even if he killed Zhao Yiman, he could not stop the determination of the Chinese people to resist the invasion. After the end of the war, Taiji Ohno was sent to a military court and sentenced to 15 years in prison. The aggressor is doomed to the consequences. Years later, China avenged these martyrs.
