Victor Osimhen, who was recently named Africa's Player of the Year, has signed a contract extension with the Serie A champions as Napoli's star striker, which will keep him in the team until 2026. Osimhen's contract was due to expire in 2025, but his contract was extended for another year. Napoli President Aurelio de Lorentis and Osimhen signed the relevant documents and posted a photo of the two to show that the agreement has been established.

Osimhen's annual salary has reportedly doubled to €10 million, while also having a salary between €1200 million euros and 1Termination clause between 300 million euros. During the last transfer window, Napoli also turned down a €200 million offer from a Saudi Arabian team. Osimhen joined Napoli from Lille in 2020 for a transfer fee of around €75 million.

He made an immediate impact as the team won last season's Serie A title, and his 26 goals also made him the first African top scorer to win the league title. Despite the ups and downs of the season, Osimhen has scored seven goals in the league, making him the third-highest scorer in Serie A. Napoli are currently looking to tie fourth-placed Fiorestina against Roma. Overall, this contract extension is positive news for both Osimhen and Napoli, securing the service of the most anticipated striker for the foreseeable future.
