Lin Jiadong is a famous Hong Kong actor, he was born in 1967, and entered the Hong Kong TVB training class in 1988, officially stepping into the entertainment industry. In the 90s of the last century, with works such as "Havoc in Guangchanglong", "Blue Blood Sword", and "Four Talents in Golden Suits", he became a first-line student in the TV circle. In 2001, he decided to challenge the film industry and became a powerful partner of well-known directors such as Johnny To and Liu Weiqiang, and performed well in "Banishment", "Revenge", "Iron Triangle" and "** series of films". He has won the Best Actor Award at the Film Festival many times, served as the producer of many films, actively supported new talents and new works, and became one of the leading figures of Hong Kong films. Recently, Lin Jiadong went to Wuhan to promote the movie "Sneaking", and accepted an exclusive interview with a Jimu News reporter, sharing his indissoluble bond with the movie. In the interview, Lin Jiadong talked about his experience of working with Mr. Andy Lau. He said Andy Lau was a producer who was "so strict that it was annoying", but he thought it should be. In his opinion, Andy Lau has always maintained such a character, and hopes to tap the different potentials of each actor on the set of "Sneak", so he often puts forward suggestions for improvement.
Although it may be a bit hard for some inexperienced actors, Lin Jiadong understands this and thinks he can handle it properly. In addition, Lin Jiadong also talked about his own experience as a producer to help many film juniors. He believes that hard work is essential, no matter what industry it is, hard work is a must. In addition to this, he also looks at whether the re-person has his own ideas, even if they are wrong. He believes that it is very important to have your own ideas, because even if there are wrong ideas, there will be people who will help to adjust and improve them, so that they can gradually absorb the experience. On the other hand, if a person does not even have his own thoughts, then he seems to him to have no soul. Jimu News: Are you keen to help newcomers because of your experience of being helped by your seniors?Lin Jiadong: Of course, I have such thoughts. I switched from TV to the film industry, Mr. Andy Lau, Mr. Wan Ziliang, and Mr. To Qifeng ......They have all helped me to thrive and help me see through my blind spots. Therefore, if I have the opportunity, I will leave these opportunities to the newcomers so that they can have a better and more exciting performance. For me, the essence of being an actor is not just about making a living.
Jimu News: In the filming footage of "Stealth", I saw that you appeared on the set at six or seven o'clock every morning, and you would sit there whether you had your own scene or not. Why do you do that?Lin Jiadong: Because the film is a whole, even if I don't have my role, I need to feel the atmosphere on the set. The performances of other actors will affect my next plays, for example, Peng Yuyan expressed in the play that Lin Jiadong is like this. So, I'm going to have to make some adjustments in the next scene to match his expression. We can't just focus on our own scenes, but on the whole work. Understand what others say and what I should say so that we can work with each other. For example, Dongguan Tsai played in the movie "**2: Harmony is Precious", the old-timers described him as very arrogant, so I had to show how arrogant he was. If I didn't know they had this scene and said this, how could I match this dialogue?I must understand: this is how others describe Dongguan ......I can work better together to achieve the current performance. Jimu News: When many fans mention Lin Jiadong, they will agree with one point of view: this is an actor who pursues art.
When did you realize that acting isn't just a lucrative job, it's your life's work?Lin Jiadong: I think it was when I was on TVB, when I filmed a lot of different types of TV dramas, maybe because of their popularity, they will continue, and the second and third episodes are the same. I gradually became confused, why is this happening?I was scared because I didn't want to treat acting as a job. I'm really excited in front of the camera, I'm excited to be acting with my partner and playing all kinds of different roles, but if I keep copying past performances, I feel very hard and I don't want to perform in that state. Lin Jiadong** Acting career journeySomeone asked me, how much money a person can make, in fact, you don't know it yourself. I don't act to make money, but I want to prove my ideas and prove my worth through acting. When I was at my most prosperous, I chose to leave, and I wanted to test the waters in the film industry to see if I could show another Lin Jiadong's state. When you gave up everything when you were the most popular, did you hesitate in your heart at that time?Lin Jiadong: No.
In fact, in 1994, a director wanted me to make a movie, but I didn't think I had enough experience yet, so I wanted to make more complex dramas and slowly accumulate experience. By the year 2000, I was really tired, and as you said, I felt like I was "working". I still remember lying in bed all day that day, thinking to myself: am I just filming to make money? It made me feel unsatisfied, I felt exhausted and scared, what should I do?I told myself that I had to get out of this place. I had just signed a contract and there were more than 100 episodes to shoot, and it took me a year to finish all those 100 episodes, and then I said I wouldn't do it anymore and left. "Protect" Dongguan Aberdeen and refuse to "hurdle" again. Lin Jiadong interacted with the audience in Wuhan. Jimu News: You just said that you were very excited when you looked at the camera, but everyone knows that Lin Jiadong is an introvert. We are curious, how can an introverted and socially phobic person fully release himself in front of the camera?Lin Jiadong: In real life, I'm not very active, but I like to observe. Every day is an observation of what our lives are like, what each and every one of them is like.
I like to hide in a corner and observe, listen, and then slowly connect them together to create a persona, which is then shown through the lens. This is my most exciting moment. I remember that before I got into the TV station, I was already like this. At 6 o'clock in the morning, I sat on the subway and watched people, thinking about what kind of occupation this person might have when he was dressedHe was not in a good mental state, probably not sleeping well;He works so early, and he shouldn't be a ...... sitting in the officeIt's a wonderful feeling to learn about it like this, to think about it every day, to enrich your inner thoughts. But off camera, I'm not too ....... Jimu News: Every time you come out to promote movies and interact with the audience, is there a lot of pressure, more pressure than acting?Lin Jiadong: Bigger, definitely. Jimu News Report: When an audience member asked to see you perform the classic scene "Dongguan Aberdo Hurdle" in "**2: Harmony is Precious", did you feel a lot of pressure?Lin Jiadong said: Yes, it is true. Many of my friends have said to me, "Why don't you try hurdling?"But I think that scene was specially created for me by director Johnny To, and I felt that I had to keep it and didn't want to repeat it, thus ruining the original flavor.
I want to keep it at its best and keep it in the minds of the audience and the director, and that's enough. This is also the "military order" I made to my boss Andy Lau. Jimu News asked: You have been in the entertainment industry for more than 30 years, and there are many memorable moments. For example, the first time he played a role with lines, the first time he played the leading actor, the first time he won the Best Actor Award, and the first time he was a producer, he won the Best Film Award. Which moment has had the most profound impact on you?Lin Jiadong replied: I think the thing that influenced me the most was winning the Best Film Award (in 2011, I produced "Fight the Ring" won the Academy Award for Best Film). Because of my personal performance, the audience may or may not like it, and this is all normal. But for a work that won the "Best Film", from the storyline to the actors, and even the cinematography and color grading, I was able to tell a story to the audience through this work, and the satisfaction is incomparable. Especially at that time, the Hong Kong film industry was sluggish, and there were few opportunities for older actors to act, and few opportunities for new actors. Why is there such a fault? Some investors have said: "We give newcomers a chance, but the box office is not ideal, what should we do?"
I understand, I know very well. But I've seen a lot of movies just for older actors to come out and put on a scene and say a line, and I think that's a waste. Their experience can help many young actors, which I don't want to see. Therefore, I told my boss at the time, Mr. Andy Lau, "I must be the executive producer of this work!"Rest assured!I'm sure!I can do it!”。Jimu News continued to ask: So "Fighting in the Ring" invited many senior "old drama bones" actors. Lin Jiadong said: "I hope to show many film companies and audiences that films can be diverse, with young young and old actors, and the two are blended together. Therefore, I had to shoot this film. That moment was both a great satisfaction and a great challenge for me. Later, when I made other films, I adhered to the same principle, and I had to invite older actors to take on more important roles. Lin Jiadong: Actors should have a variety of possibilitiesActor Lin Jiadong believes that actors should have a variety of possibilities and constantly change. He expressed his desire to be able to influence other actors with his experience and opinions.
In an interview with Jimu News, Lin Jiadong shared his special feelings for Chen Baiqiang's song "Wind", and described the picture he conceived when listening to the song in the car: a child is running on the grassland, the wind is blowing on him, although he doesn't know what is ahead, he still keeps running forward. Lin Jiadong compares this image to his current state, and he hopes to continue to move forward, although he does not know what will happen ahead, but he must not stop. He believes that everyone will encounter various difficulties in life, but in the end, they still have to face it, and they must not stop, complain or stand still, but move forward.
