Constant power heat tracing is an electric heating product used for anti-freezing and thermal insulation of pipelines, storage tanks and other equipment, which has the advantages of uniform heating and long service life. Proper installation is critical to the performance and safety of a constant power cable, and here are seven steps to a constant power cable installation.
1.Choose the right model: Before installing the constant power heat tracing, it is necessary to choose the appropriate constant power heat trace model according to the material, size, ambient temperature and other factors of the heating equipment.
2.Inspect the surface of the pipe: Before installation, always check that the surface of the pipe or equipment is smooth, dry, and free of rust and burrs. If the surface of the pipe does not meet the requirements, it needs to be cleaned or repaired.
3.Laying the heat tracing: The constant power heat tracing should be laid on the pipeline or equipment, and the heat tracing object should be matched as much as possible to ensure that there is good contact between the heat tracing and the pipeline. When laying the heat tracing, crossover and overlap should be avoided.
4.Fixed heat tracing: Use a special cable clamp or lashing strap to fix the heat tracing to the pipe, and the fixed spacing is generally about 50cm. When fixing the heat tracing, care should be taken not to be too tight, so as not to affect the heating performance of the heat tracing.
5.Connect the power supply: Connect the two ends of the constant power tracing with the power supply, and pay attention to the correctness of the positive and negative poles. Before connecting to the power supply, make sure that the power supply voltage matches the rated voltage of the heat tracing.
6.Installation of insulation: After the installation of the constant power heat tracing, it should be covered with an insulation layer on the outside to reduce heat loss. The thickness of the insulation should be determined according to the local climatic conditions and the heat loss of the pipeline.
7.Test and commissioning: After the installation is completed, the constant power heat trace should be tested and debugged to check whether the heat trace is normally heated and whether the insulation performance is good. If there is a problem, it should be adjusted or repaired in time.
It should be noted that the installation of the constant power heat trace should be carried out by professionals, and the relevant installation specifications and operating procedures should be strictly followed during the installation process. In addition, in order to ensure the safe operation of the heat tracing, it should also be inspected and maintained regularly.
